Re bacon: I had not eaten Little Caesars pizza in about 20 years but I had to try the bacon/bacon pizza, which had a bacon wrapped crust and lots of bacon on top. It was kind of a greasy salt lick but it was oddly satisfying.

@FBM,
Itaewon . . . there's a blast from the past. I could tell some stories . . . but i'd rather talk about ham.

@FBM,
I have to go with bacon. Cured ham seems like an entirely different kind of meat, and fresh ham is just a large cut of fresh pork. I buy the low sodium bacon, sometimes the thicker cut, and the lower sodium lets you taste more meat at least to me. I don't care for overly salted anything.

Hopefully in the next month, the local tomatoes will be in, and we will have many BLT's with mayo. We will be in a complete tomato frenzy the entire summer.

@glitterbag,
Here's the local brand I was talking about. I'm not sure if the photo shows it very well, but it's almost as thick as that pen:

@FBM,
That is not bacon, that is what the maker calls "bacon steak", which by the picture is a slice of ham.

@FOUND SOUL,
Judging from ehBeth's link, it's a lot closer to British style bacon than American style. NOM!

A Westphalian saying says that you must cut ham so thin that you can read a newspaper through it. But you have to lay it on bread thick enough not to notice the bread.

@FBM,
Whilst you NOM! I'm cringing apparently our bacon may actually be imported from Denmark ?

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-07-26/pork-industry-calls-for-australian-labelling-overhaul/5625080

It's all bacon to me.

@Walter Hinteler,
I'll go along with both of those sentiments. I wouldn't care for thick-sliced ham on my sammich, but a huge pile of thin sliced ham is just what the doctor ordered!
