Cal:-

Balderdash. It is a game Lola invented. You were a bit snooty to Lola a while back.I suggested a rule change which I thought would improve the game.I met with a little resistance but I prevailed and am now relying on 10 of my thready friends to participate. All you have to do is post a definition of "kinnikins" and if your definition I judge wittiest you win and you get a cyber hug and then a cyber.......well..you know.

You will play won't you?

Will you?

What? I am never snooty to anyone.
No, sorry spendius, I won't play! There are enough players
there, so enjoy yourself without me Wink

I'm not snooty, right?

I wasn't the one to suggest it.I won't say who did but he's a decent looking chap who lives on an island with a ready wit for company. You could play just for me and to show you are not snooty.I need ten players-please oh please sweet little Cal.I know it hasn't the class I've seen on the picture posts but just this once to make the numbers up.

You will won't you?

I don't know. Nice of you to wait, but I'm sure by now
you'll be asleep.

When is the Derby tomorrow?

Yes, it's this afternoon, but I can't get into my internet betting account. I'm trying not to back Motivator. I fancy Fracas myself but with flat racing the favourite wins so often.

Do you gamble?

Never. I've bought one lottery ticket ever and it was for a friend's 16th birthday. (Kinda a right of passage... on your 16th birthday it becomes legal for you to smoke, have sex and play the lottery. So naturally every person who turns 16 must receive a condom, a pack of fags and a lottery ticket Smile ) I've only just become old enough for regular gambling and i just don't see the point. Well apart from poker between friends but some of my mates are professionals - Askey can make a regular living from it - so funnily enough I play them for M + Ms!! Very Happy

What's your happiest memory of the year so far?

Backing the Grand National winner but it was stealing really.Meeting Lola and Cal has been okay too. You're right not to gamble. It's a mugs game without the right connections.I never bought a lottery ticket in my life.I have seen one once.It was in the cloisters at Stonyhurst College would you believe.Football and cricket games are best for betting on.The Derby looks sub-standard to me.

Any vibes where you are on it?

No! It seems the British like to gamble - except Bekaboo, he/she is too young - and horse races are the preferred choice here.

Have you won yet?

I won on the first ever Derby I went to - 1966 I think. Have just backed Motivator and Fracas. It's a mug's game and I only do it twice a year.

What is your favourite vice?

How can you lose in our lovely Faustian dream. We don't bother too much about winning. We bet to participate in a national tradition. It's better than simpler form of guessing games and it is simply beautiful to look at and the role models it provides are an example to all young people.

Are you back in tip-y-top shape?

Yes, thank you! I am on top of the world again.

How do you bet? On the phone/TV/internet?

(Sorry I'm a complete novice).

It is a bit complicated.Anyway a lady is not expected to place wagers in the better sort of company. It is considered common.

What does "tarty" mean.
