Now, now Mathos I would not call her that, she is a lovely lady, afterall she has offered to cook me a delicious meal, an invitation that I treasure.

Would you offer to cook a meal to a complete stranger?

Yes.

Because if I'm thinking of running a B&B, I'd better be willing to cook for strangers, hadn't I? Laughing

(But I do draw the line at sending them pictures of various parts of my anatomy).

Let me know when you're organizing your next BBQ, I might just unexpectedly drop in. Laughing

Do you like preparing and eating fish (sea food)?

Fish is probably my least favorite thing to prepare and my most favorite thing to eat...

In terms of the next barbecue at my house, right now I know that on Saturday, June 30, I'm having a barbecue because a friend of mine from the US is here at the university in Bath, as a guest lecturer on James Joyce. He's only here for a month, and they've got him scheduled every single minute until his last week-end- so that's when he's coming over to eat. I think you'd find him very interesting company Dutchy. He's one of the smartest (and nicest) people I've ever met, and one of my best friends- I've known him since l983- so what's that-24 years- Jesus, that's scary...

But if you want your own steak, you can't just drop in- you have to let me know you're coming, okay? Anyway- won't you need directions to my house?

Aidan you have no idea how much I would love to re-visit the UK and also the US, where I have never been, alas I think it will stay a dream as finances are the drawback. Sad However should lady luck be kind to me one day I'll be off like a rocket, btw, I like my steak medium to rare. Smile

Once you return to the US, will you stay on the forum?

You like your steak just like I like mine- 4 minutes on the grill- give or take depending on the thickness of the steak- I have that one pretty much perfected. Laughing

Staying on the forum- I guess that's the beauty of the internet, so sure, and maybe I'll make some American friends who won't be so elitist and standoffish- (I'm not referring to you Dutchy- I understand the type of constraints you're speaking of).

Have you ever gotten together with any of the other Aussies? Do any of them live anywhere near where you live?

No I have not. The ones I have met on the forum all live in other cities. I do keep contact with them on the threads mainly by answering crosswords queries or the occasional pm. One of our Aussie friends is missing for sometime now, and I and another member of this forum are very concerned about her. Our e-mails and pm's are not being answered which is very unusual for her as she was always punctual in the past. We know she was very ill but have no idea as to how to contact her.

Have you ever located a missing person via the Internet?

Yes, for somebody else, and it was probably the biggest, daftest mistake I ever made in my life!

We had one hell of a downpour last night, it's ruined a beautiful display of paenoia and damaged my prize rose tree! So that's another fine mess you got me into.

It must have been a night for storms and outbreaks of thunder and lightning, musn't it!

I prefer my steaks very well done so that obviously makes me totally incompatible for even dining with Aidan, doesn't it?

Who was missing in your life that you had to try to find on the internet?
I'm happy to say, I've never had anyone go missing in my life, so I've never had to employ any methods to try to find anyone.

Sorry to hear about your flowers Mathos.

By the way, thanks for your very gracious and generous invitation to visit you at your home. Unfortunately, I'll have to decline- mostly because I think you'd give me a false address and I'd drive the two (and a bit) hours to Manchester only to find that the address you gave as Chez Mathos, was in fact a brothel or something...

That'd be funny wouldn't it?

Look Aidan, when I make reference to you being THICK it's because of stupid responses like you give above.

Watch my bloody lips will you dumbo! I distinctly said FOR SOMEBODY ELSE

You respond with 'Who was missing in your life' How daft can a response be? It's like teaching boxing at times talking to you. The penny doesn't always drop, I could put it this way! Monkey's have a level of intelligence I can work with and they imitate, so I have this saying" Monkey see,- monkey do"

OK.. Chin tucked into left shoulder, (assuming you are orthodox and not a southpaw) Extend left arm fully, elbow turned and joint locked, you should be looking down the length of your left arm to your mitt on the end..If you can't understand the lingo..Watch !! "Monkey see-monkey do"

That is probably far enough for you on the early steps for present, here's a peanut, watch! put in mouth and chew...Monkey see-monkey do!

It always seems to happen the last three years especially, prize blooms bloody ruined.

I'd thought of sending you to a seraglio as a matter of fact, but then as you are leaving the UK and my wife would have gone barmy if I'd duped you into going elsewhere and not wishing to be subjected to further displays of wanton and inconsiderate acts of the thrashing termagant tongue you can illustriously display at times, I was being one hundred and ten percent straight with you.

Even, if I remember correctly affording you the opportunity to fetch your children with you, as the outing might be a nice pleasant trip for them.

The offer has been publicly rebuked and I see no point in adding further.

Except to say, you are exposing your ingratitude in the manner of an insensible, psychotically enhanced paranoid, uncompromising, mentally retarded Texan **** kicker.

Have you always been like that?

That Newbie is asking for a good hard kick up the backside!

Try:- I don't think the Newbie was in the least considerate, possibly Aidan's gardener, bailing her out!

That Kid again!

I don't have any problems young lady, I'm perfect, the perfect ten to be precise! Does that give you cause for concern?

Not really old chap. I leave "concern" to those who can turn it to account.

Did you know that Man U are 6 to 4 to win next year's Premiership?

No I didn't, but I would not take these odds at present.

Did you know that Australia is "odds on" to win the ICC World Twenty20 Cricket Championship in South Africa next September?
