No Aidan, you're trying to cover up what was a very obvious admission of your inability to act for yourself without being guided along and having your hand held. Obviously moving over here and finding a job, looking after children etc etc and so forth, was a mammoth event in your life. You probably deserve a blue Peter Badge and a halo to go with it!

There are people who I have met, who's husbands and children have been murdered, they have been heavily pregnant, fled through jungles and mine fields, given birth in ditches, and crawled walked and swam to refugee camps, been divested of anything of value they managed to take with them, I won't go into detail of further atrocities which befell them, and they are bloody glad to eat monkey, rat, or anything else on offer!

Do you think we are very lucky to live in the occidental world, and simply take it all for granted, making hiccups a terrible event?

Isn't it true to say that the gardener looks after the grounds for you every week and can't you safely say you will never fall into the poverty trap?

Mathos- The gardener is part of the rent I pay. I didn't hire him- the landlord did, and she pays for it.

But yes, I'll probably never fall into the poverty trap- mostly due to hard work, sound investments, and life insurance.

Not at all. I figure you work hard for what you make and it's your right to spend it as you see fit.

My conscience is clean as a whistle Mathos. I'm not extravagant and I do what I can to help others in any way I can. I also give thanks everyday for what I have- and not just for the material things either.

Yes I do. And in all actuality, I've already begun my usual end of my time somewhere beginning to withdraw so it will be easier to say good-bye. I do it every single time I move. But so far, between work and my choir and my writing group- there are three good-bye get togethers planned, and to be honest with you, I don't know how I'm going to get through any of them. I know I will be devastated to leave here. You Brits are some of the best friends I've made in my entire life- I don't know- I just can really relate on a deeper level or something with people over here.

Do you have any defense mechanisms like that- that instead of staying really, really closely in touch with people until the very end, you start withdrawing so it's easier when you have to leave?

Clary is coming up North now I believe, but I will not be meeting her. I have offered to meet Spendi, I reckon he lives about fifty mile from me, he won't meet though. It isn't a problem, but he is the only one I would have seen any sense in meeting from my point of view.

I'm not grumpy. I'm just pointing out how extremely inconsistent you are. I guess I'm just not very good at playing the game Mathos. I understand so little of how it works. Someone says, "I want to know what you look like" and then the other person says, "Okay, come to dinner at my house" and then the other person says, "No, you're not important enough for me to do that, but send me a picture of your tits"....

I don't know how to respond to that. That's out of any of my previous experience and beyond my comprehension.
