I have medium brown (shoulder length) hair and dark brown eyes. Inevitably, I wish I was an ash blonde with grey eyes.

How about you?

My hair is dark, grey bits are coming through here and there, I dyed it black once last year and my wife went ballistic with me. She either likes the distinguished look or she's concerned that I might just be looking too good!

Your jumping the gun there Aidan, accusing me of casting aspersions on your intelligence. Or are you of the opinion that all blondes are of lower intelligence than the brunettes, and auburn headed girls?

I was simply looking at your Avatar pic and thought you would benefit from dying your hair blonde, it can't be that big a job to do the eye-brows I'm sure.

Tell you what, why don't you dye it blonde and lets have a look, it must be worth the gamble?

No I'm not casting aspersions on blonde girls-I just figured that you were making some kind of chauvinistic statement.

My hair is not as dark as it looks in that picture- my skin is not as red-the grass was not that green-the coloring is intensified somewhat on this screen.
I think people most often look best with the coloring they were born with, so I hesitate to change something so drastically.

I also don't need your opinon or approval to feel happy with myself or the way I look- so no- I won't dye my hair blonde.

Whiteviolet- your coloring sounds lovely. I love very dark eyes with lighter hair- just as I think light eyes with dark hair is very striking.

Would you ever consider having plastic surgery?
(edited to say, not you specifically whiteviolet-whoever chooses to answer this).

Yes, I would have loads if I could! Starting with nose job, then eyelid lifts and neck/jowl stuff. Why not?

Your choice.

I used to think I never would, but now that the physical signs of the reality of aging are here for me, I sometimes think I wish I had the courage to.

Reasons why I wouldn't include the pain of surgery, the vanity of wasting money in such a way, and the the disappointment I would feel in myself for buying into the ridiculous anti-aging culture we've created in our society. But it's hard not to at least want to.

What does "cor" mean or stand for? Didn't anyone ever tell you there are no dumb questions or are you referring to the fact that there wasn't a question asked?
or alternatively- if someone who's not British answers this and doesn't know what "cor" means-

Do you ever wear toe rings? (I edited to add the second question).

Haven't done yet but at the end of last summer I realised how great toe rings looked so will do occasionally this year.

Haven't checked but I believe Cor stands for/comes from cockney pronunciation of God Bless me! - Cor Blimey!

Which is your favourite capital city and why?

Sydney. Firstly because of its great beauty and unique location near a deep harbour around which the city is build. It has a real cosmopolitan atmosphere, great shops, many fine restaurants and places of entertainment. Only draw back, it is over 2000km from where I live!

Have you travelled overseas and seen any particular place that has impressed you?

I knew it wasn't the capital of Oz Dutchy, but knew it had some significance in your country's geography.

Who did the name originate from?

In 1788, Arthur Phillip, on order of the British Government, founded the first convict settlement at Sydney Cove on Port Jackson. He named it after the British Home Secretary, Thomas Townshend, Lord Sydney, in recognition of Sydney's role in issuing the charter authorising Phillip to establish a colony.

Are you interested in British history?

Some Dutchy, it is not a subject I really studied, but whenever I hear certain things as you mention above, it wets my appetite.

I take it you studied the subject?

Not at length as I have a number of books on Australian history and I usually refer to them when I want to know something.

What are the odds of Manchester United winning the league title with only a few matches to go?

2 gets you 1 mostly but 5 gets you 2 in those quarters which fancy it themselves.

The more interesting betting is on who goes down and who comes up.

Am I correct in using "who" there instead of "which"?
