It's 8:50 a.m.... and no, I don't think it's a go, for me. You all have fun, though!

Where will you be arranging this - a restaurant?

I gather Jupiter is X light minutes from here so when I'm reading posts from there I'm obviously living in the past.

What's it like?

Yes.I once made love to a young lady on a park bench in a freezing gale and I can assure you that cold fusion is definitely possible as long as you are under twenty and a bit inexperienced.

Style helps as well don't you think?

Oh, style definitely matters! It makes everything so much more acceptable.

However, a good accent never fails to impress, does it?

A good accent never fails to impress me as well.I love listening to football managers with their range of dialects and also to Joanna Lumley.
I like American accents as long as they are talking about something important but not with banal stuff like "Have you put the kettle on darling".That sounds really naff.

Do you think that's why Americans are always talking about something important?

Sorry, I have no choice but to throw that question right back at you, slightly changed -- do YOU think Americans are always talking about something important, and if so, which ones, and about what?

No.I was simply being discreet.

Most of the American accents I hear are on the television but I had a recent experience of the banal stuff for a few hours over the festive season,a lady of no small dignity from Vancouver would you believe, and I found a difference in my acceptabilty gauge from those others which are always talking about something important.

Is that fairly clear?

Yes, I believe so, however, we Cdns do not refer to ourselves as"Americans" the way Europeans do...We are only Canadians. I am assuming you are referring to all North Americans, however.

Have you heard the Newfoundland accent?
