They are very impressive.I particularly admire the skill they have shown in expanding psychiatry. We are so slow and have little ambition in this regard.
We psychoanalyse each other in the pub with the aim of exacerbating our various conditions and saving our money for beer purchases.

Is JK Galbraith as austere and aloof as he seems or is he just acting the goat as well?

Y'know, I only know of him, not enough to comment one way or the other. Do you have any particular feeling about the man?

Wouln't you say "cool" is subjective? I'm not a huge fan of economists, etc. It wasn't even one of my favorite subjects.

No.Cool has been defined.James Bond say to give a simple example. But there are many examples of much higher quality.Rider Haggard is loaded with them but cheap editions have sometimes cut them out.Flaubert's father during post-mortems used to throw bits and pieces to his dog. That's pretty cool.

What have you got against economics?

Nothing. Just never 'gravitated' toward it, I suppose.

Okay, so who's "cool" nowadays?

Business is busy! Unfortunately it always seems we get a bad customer or a difficult job that makes money-making a problem!
Speaking of 'aloof' ,(as we just were) have you ever mentioned what you do for a living (to procure all that beer money)?!

At least once a year, it seems. Enough to do some 'financial' damage!

What is your career, Spendi- and why are you so blasted circuitous about it!?

I have a number of careers. It is a large number but I can easily make it bigger. There's nothing circuitous about it.

Yes.I like them now and again.

Don't you think we ought to wait for somebody else to come on in case we release that pack of howling wolves who did all that barking when CJ and myself did a short uninterrupted series of posts?

Like you I feel all are welcome to post here. As long as we try to ask open-ended questions I don't see a problem, do you?

What should our next subject be?

We could discuss the general apathy on this thread which has recently developed.

Do you think it is because we are too trivial or not trivial enough?

Hmm. Don't know. It's hard to say. It might be one to some and the other to some others!
Does everyone think you and I are having a one to one discussion?

I don't.Surely we would PM if we are.

And why should anybody care if it was their own lack of interest which made it seem that way?

I can't imagine anyone would care. I suppose I just don't want anyone to feel 'run off' the thread. But, like I've said, all are welcome to post, so what does it matter?

What are you currently working on?

Oh-just the usual.Keeping going.It's a tough thing to manage actually.With a long term objective I mean.
There's all these things that you have to do that can do you in.Working for example. There seems to be an endless list of such things. And you have to work with that.

Do you know how dangerous being easily bored is?

Yes! I have a 6-year-old who is complaining about being bored right now! I'm busy with work and other things right now as well. Paperwork's piling up and I'm helping my parents move. I'm running their moving sale, scool starts soon and we're house/cat-sitting... and the list goes on. I wouldn't know boredom if it came up and bit me! I welcome (and most times have to make) the opportunity to "get bored", rest, or take time for myself.

Do you know what I mean?
