I would have dropped French, which I completely failed, and taken Spanish instead.

Where is your dream holiday destination?

O, there wouldn't be just one; if I had a dream holiday, I'd be able to get a train pass and go everywhere and anywhere.

If I had to limit myself to one place: hmm... Santiago

Sorry. I had problems with my computer.

If, due to some wacky reason, you could go back to the past-- where would you go, and why?

I'd go to eighteenth century Lucknow, where erudite people traded rhyming couplets while sipping wine from jewelled goblets and myriad cooks created succulent dishes. Oh, and I'd be a man, or else I'd be confined to the harem.

If you had to choose between being transported 100 years into the past or into the future, which would you choose and why?

Future - I couldn't cope being back in 1904 without a car, computer, Tv, dvd player. And, I could see if Big Brother 105 was around!

What type of books do you like reading?

My reading is quite wide, but I prefer to read the classics; it's as if I relate to them more. I don't like plodding plots, but I don't like overly-artificial ones. I love Laclos, Flaubert, Voltaire and lots of French authors. I also love to read plays, particularly Shakespeare's and Wilde's. I love poetry too, but I keep away from anything with the title 'life-affirming.' 'Life-affirming' is their name for things that aren't good enough to be called satisfactory, but convey a good message so ought to be worth something.

Money cannot be the root of all evil. I believe that too much money can be root to SOME evil. It is definately a big mistake to believe thet money is the root of all evil!

I like different ones for different times; tetris is still fine for thinking about something important at the same time; The Sims and Tropico are nice for building a story.

Have you travelled in the Far East (China and Korea and Japan)?

I have been to Seoul; I liked it there. I'd like to travel more extensively around that area, though.

(What's Tropico, by the way? Building stories in games?)

No but I may need a new printer as I simply cannot get the black cartridge to print - I've had 3 new ones...

Which printer should I get?

That depends on whether you want ink or laserjet. I'd recommend Lexmark, especially the combined models.

What do you prefer to have for breakfast.

Pancakes! Somtimes... but MAN are they filling! Pancakes with ice cream and hot fudge and hundreds and thousands from the Pancake parlour. Or maybe potatos... oh I just can't think!

Whats one of your best adventures?

Being on a ferry when it struck rocks out to sea and started to take on water. We were stuck for over an hour and in the end were rescued by life boats.

I was good; the only bad thing that I ever did was to start a poker match in a Science lesson (taught by someone who knew nothing of Science.) Laughing It was worth it. I won.

If you could live as you are now, or live with plenty of money over in the middle of a remote African jungle, which would you choose?

I suppose I could do that, most of us could - not a lot to spend it on there! I would have chosen the jungle 30 years ago, for the experience; now not so sure!

If you had to choose between living in a 28th floor serviced apartment in Hong Kong and a cottage in the British countryside, with the attendant benefits and irritations of both, which would you choose?

I think that I would have to choose the apartment in Hong Kong. Firstly, I'd be stuck there, as I can't drive and the buses are even worse. Secondly, you know how much English society annoys the hell from me, and it would probably be even worse in a secluded environment with traditional values.... people would look at me like some weird Helen Huntingdon character, without the child.

If you had to represent your country in the Beijing Olympics, what sport would you go for gold in?

I like the heptathlon. But I'd have a better chance in the equestrian 3-day event, where the horse could do the physical work

And you?
