That it doesn't seem to want to take is likely symbolic of the futility of your attempt to intercede in tribal warfare with anything akin to reason.
It's all a continuum, however those who reside on the far ends of the band, are not about to acknowledge any argument arising from the middle ground.
This is not to say that the precise middle is the correct position, or that leaning towards one end or the other is not on point, but reason is always a victim of ideology.
