"Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" is a well-known phrase in the United States Declaration of Independence.[1] The phrase gives three examples of the "unalienable rights" which the Declaration says have been given to all humans by their creator, and which governments are created to protect. The second paragraph of the first article in the Declaration of Independence contains the phrase "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness".

Comment:
The declaration of Independence comes before the Constitution.
It is in this Declaration all people are counted as EQUAL.
There is a reason why the Declaration of Independence precedes the Constitution because it is the foundation with which all of the articles in the Constitution rest.
You know life? The thing you claim to be "pro".
Immigrants have a "heartbeat" and they have life and a right to happiness... and they are created just as equal as your selfish, racist self...
The Declaration of Independence was written in 1776, The Constitution was written in 1787.
Jefferson's original draft of the declaration reads
"We hold these truths to be sacred & undeniable; that all men are created equal & independent, that from that equal creation they derive rights inherent & inalienable, among which are the preservation of life, & liberty, & the pursuit of happiness;"
Comment; What is embodied in both versions is that people are counted as equal before they are counted as citizens...
So our country's very roots are founded on the ideal that all "people" are counted as equal. Not just white people... Just in case you need to be reminded.
