@TheCobbler,
Considering the shooter wasn't a white guy, you tell me? Are you going to claim this black guy was a GOP Trump supporter?

I'll also point out again, that the last CO school shooting was done by a gay kid and his trans buddy...

@snood,
Everybody loved Obama, they still do. We didn't protest him, when he came we waved American flags.

Justify it any way you like. Obama is widely loved after eight years in office, Drumpf is widely despised after two.

LOL now that a cop at parkland had been charge with not protecting the children during that shooting spree all those John Wayne what to be armed teachers are now at risk of similar charges if they find that facing someone with an assault rifle with a hand gun is something they do not care to do after all.

Have you given up all of your guns? Or are you still one of those John Wayne types?

If the person with an assault rifle is not wearing body armor, a handgun should be adequate.

I don't see why teachers cannot have a rifle in their classroom. A lever-action .30-30 in a gun safe that only the teacher can open seems quite doable.

Actually the Republicans are going to hold the White House for 20 years.

Even after 20 years of Republican rule, the voters will not return the Democrats to power until they purge their party of nutty leftists and start nominating sensible moderates again.

Yes indeed engaging someone with a rifle with a handgun outside of say 30 or even 20 yards point blank ranges for any rifle in a long hallway for example is survivable in your opinion?

As I said given that an armed teacher would have the same duty to protect children in his care as that cop at parkland those Wayne teachers what to be should think the whole thing over.

Presumably these teachers would be barricaded in their classroom and would be engaging the attacker at close range as he forced his way into their classroom.

I think that will be an easy decision for them. Teachers are already willingly confronting these attackers when they have no guns at all.

And as I said, why not let teachers have a lever-action .30-30 in a gun safe in their classroom? There is no reason why teachers have to be limited to handguns.

LOL the only way the GOP could hold to power is to have a napoleon type coupe an given the great and earn disrespect Trump is held by most of the men and women in our military that is not a great danger.

I would not however be surprise if after he lose the next election he will need to be drag out of the white house yelling about the millions of illegal voters who was flown into the US.

Yes indeed mishandle level actions guns are no more likely to killed the children then handguns.

Of course parents should be given the right to have their children go to non armed camps as the last pollings I seen parents strangely do not wish their children to go to schools full of armed teachers.

Quote:
As a new school year begins, a recent poll shows a majority parents don’t want their child’s teacher carrying a gun to school despite a “disturbing” level of concern about safety.

The annual Phi Delta Kappa International poll from earlier this year has been probing American attitudes about schools for half a century, and the newest installment says the current level of worry hasn’t been seen in two decades.

One in three parents fears for their child’s safety at school, which is “a disturbing number to express such a fundamental concern,” the authors observe.

For them, more guns are not the answer. “By and large, those parents want to strengthen existing systems of security — using metal detectors at entrances, counseling for troubled students — rather than having teachers and staff carry guns in schools without plenty of screening,” said Joshua P. Starr, chief executive officer of PDK International.

Two out of three respondents said they didn’t want their child in a classroom with an armed teacher, though attitudes differed based on political affiliation, with 57 percent of Republicans in favor versus 39 percent of independents and 17 percent of Democrats. The notion was also more acceptable if guns were allowed only with teachers who’d undergone rigorous training — at least 80 hours’ worth. In that case, support was about half and half, though the strongly opposed, 33 percent, still outnumbered the strong supporters, 20 percent.

The poll found some common ground. A large majority of parents, regardless of partisanship, favor armed police in schools, through Republicans were the most supportive. Metal detectors were also popular across party lines, especially among less educated, lower-income and non-white parents, who, perhaps not coincidentally, were the most fearful. Mental health screening of all students was supported by at least three out of four polled, though partisan allegiance reflected a difference in opinion when it came to paying for it, with Democrats more supportive than Republicans.

The results were released as Georgia debates how to address safety. Lawmakers have been holding listening sessions across the state, hearing recommendations about everything from training exercises to mental health, even as a handful of Georgia school districts take steps to allow armed teachers.

Such parents should not expect any sympathy from me if their kids are massacred.

Why should a teacher and cop while showing his gun discharging it into a classroom ceiling with the the bullet ricochet into a student shoulder around 6 months ago or why did another teacher discharge his gun through a classroom window for no known reason?

Full the schools up with arm teachers an a percent of them will mishandle their firearms.

Hell when I am at a range I am always watching as mostly I do no know the knowledge or the weapon handling skills of those sharing the range with me an the idea of that being the case for a school full of children is concerning.
