How come Hillary Clinton was investigated for 6 years, and not once did she say, "I'm f*cked."????

@Olivier5,
Thank you Oliver. I can handle a few misdirected insults from trolls. I am comfortable in who I am and generally a content human being. We have to get this corrupt goon out of the White House and set America back on the road of healing the division and wounds. These divisions cause by the totally unscrupulous republican party, swollen greedy corporations and enemies of our country and government. Enemies that do not want to be regulated to return to society what they have stolen. Every vote counts in this democracy, our allies depend upon us to fix this scourge within our country that threatens to destabilize the free world. The future of democracy depends on us getting rid of these corrupt republicans. Thank you Oliver for your kind words of encouragement. You are a rare and good soul...

You know, paying 1/3 of the total tax revenue is a pretty good deal for those who own 99.9 % of wealth in this country.

My math leaves the 1% to pay 2/3 of the tax revenue that pays for government services that corporations make use of.

@TheCobbler,
You're most welcome. Your posts often give me pose, or make me laugh, in a good way i mean. Better laugh than cry about Trump and his neocrypto brand of fascism...

It's Olivier by the way. It ends in "yeah"!

Or Oliver, if that works better. Or Ollie, or Olive, or Zeitun for my Arab friends. "Olive tree" for some here... I don't really care much anymore.

@Olivier5,
Olivier you are welcome here and I am glad you like my posts. I try my best to be informed, though, not always successfully. If people point out my errors in a considerate way I do not mind change. Best to you and sorry for not getting the spelling right on your name. I have to spell many names a day to respond to YouTube comments and I pride myself in getting them right the first time. Your name's spelling got by me and I apologize for that.

Your presence here in this thread is valued and appreciated by me. Thanks for the responses Olivier. šŸ˜

@TheCobbler,
More propaganda. First off the 1% do not have 99% of the wealth, your math sucks. At best, they have 40% of the wealth and they also pay well over 60% of the personal income taxes. There is also a major difference between personal income taxes and corp income taxes.

Quote:
My math leaves the 1% to pay 2/3 of the tax revenue that pays for government services that corporations make use of.

This is exactly what happens, there is a major portion of the poor in this country who pay no income taxes, roughly 47%, they even get more back in "refunds" than what they actually pay into the system. So the poor are not paying their fair share of taxes, and the wealthy actually pay more than their fair share.

@Olivier5,
Several people got several posts pulled, it looks like. On both sides of the discussion. Which actually raised some legit and serious points. But with entirely too much spittle flying around, no participant excluded.

Lots of LGBTQI grammar rules that are all over the place.

Homosexual, bisexual, transsexual and then intersex.

Don't use intersexual or the word police will come here and accuse you of being a Nazi. Smile

@TheCobbler,
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I donā€™t entirely mind if corporations pay zero taxes.

What Iā€™d rather see is the money that CEOs and highly paid employees make gets taxed more.
The money that investors make get taxed more.

I think there needs to be some tax rate on businesses of course, but only so we can give them tax breaks for doing things that the government wants to encourage (like going geeen energy or providing healthcare or donating time/money to the community or expanding their business). But if the corporation does enough of that for their employees, then Iā€™m pretty much ok with them paying zero taxes.

I think taxes should come from voters and people and business should be taxed less in order to make sure our product are competitive in the world market and for consumers.

Okay, but youā€™ve got to enact policies that are doable. What would be easier to police and enforce- imposing a tax rate on corporations, or mandating them to do those ā€œthings the government wants to encourageā€?

@snood,
Iā€™m not asking for any changes to what happens now.

Companies currently get tax write-off for the things I mentioned (and more of course). The only way to catch the ones that cheat is to audit them (which we should do more of).

Iā€™m just saying that personally, I think the people who benefit from the companies profits should see higher taxes. Taxing companies just means that consumers pay more for goods and services. Taxing companies means less jobs.

I said it was an unpopular opinion. But it is mine.
