We had the same type of law pass here in CO, the drawing of voting maps will in the future be done by an "independent panel" comprised of 3 DNC, 3 GOP and 3 Independent or "unaffiliated people". We will see how it works, they won't be doing anything until after the 2020 Census.

Seems to me that Madison being a liberal strong hold has done just fine in the elections, they keep electing Dems and enacting crazy liberal policies. In fact Madison is the San Fran of WI.

I wonder if you feel that same way about CA rigging their elections so only Dems make it on the final ballot, "Jungle Primaries" are highly suspicious when only one party seems to get the votes for the primary election. How is that democracy when only one party gets their candidates on the ballot?

How is it democracy when the GOP gerrymanders state governments throughout the country so that Democrats stand no chance of winning?

It's only gerrymandering when the DNC doesn't win, why is that? They seem to be doing just fine in liberal places like CA and NY and any other left leaning state.

Such practice is illegal over here. All boundary changes are subject to an appeal to an independent board.

Both parties have practiced gerrymandering. I see that as a wrong committed on both sides. What I see as the major Republican crime is voter suppression, which is being practiced in plain view, where they stop suspected opposition voters from voting at all. This tactic has been used by Democrats a few times, but not on the scale of Republicans.
