Consider this: How much time do you spend talking about Muslim extremists in your everyday life, even among those people you discuss politics with? Now, how much time do you spend talking about Muslim extremists on this board in your conversations with coldjoint? Probably 20 times more.
Muslim extremism is a "selling point" for the right, and if you converse with coldjoint, at some point you'll be answering his posts about Muslim extremists.
There's no other way to preserve sensible conversation on the board, especially this thread, without putting coldjoint on Ignore. And he's not the only one. I admit occasionally I backslid and made the mistake of responding to him-and sure enough, I found myself responding to his posts about the right's favorite hate targets: Muslims, Clintons, Obamas, Nancy Pelosi, "libs" in general, (alternatively referred to disparagingly as "socialists"). "Ignore" is the only way.
