@TheCobbler,
Quote:You know the supreme court justices still work for "we the people".
They actually don't work for the people, that's why it's not an elected position, it is suppose to leave them above the fray of politics and not subject to the mob.
Quote:If we do not like any of their rulings we can through endless protests MAKE them understand and change their minds.
So the SCOTUS decides their rulings on the will of the people and not what the Constitution says?
Quote:This has not happened because none of their rulings have risen to such a critical level... yet.
People can protest the SCOTUS all they want to, but they are not subject to rule on what the people want, if they do that, then why bother with a Constitution? That's right, you want to do away with that pesky Constitution, it gets in the way of your political goals.
Quote:The front steps of the justice building could look like downtown Cairo during Egyptian revolution of 2011 with the snap of a finger if any of these justices step out of line of the people's will.
I'll say it again for the slow people, the SCOTUS doesn't rule on the will of the people, they rule whether something is Constitutional or not, the "will of the people" be damned.
Quote:Let them try and overturn Rowe vs Wade or marriage equality.
I don't think any of those rulings are going to change, they are not a major factor in a majority of Americans minds, only to those on the extreme's of either subject. As far as most of America is concerned those are settled subjects and not likely to see the SCOTUS anytime soon.
Quote:They may learn quickly who really pays their salary...
Empty threats with zero impact. Unless you can find something they criminally did wrong, you stand zero chance of removing a sitting judge from the court, they can't be removed because of a decision they made being unpopular, that's the sort of thing wars are fought over. It sounds like you are pushing for a civil war, is that what you are after?
