Actually, that cartoon shows the sheer stupidity of the Lefts argument. These children are not mistreated, they are well fed and live better than kids in the inner cities and the children of US citizens under the poverty line.

It's true that the US has had too many dark passages in our history. Unfortunately, we don't seem to be willing to ignore our basest instincts...like a toddler screaming mine, mine, mine. Currently we have a president who know how to stoke the fear for this own ends. So, the fearful don't even notice how their safety nets, their future, their health needs, education of their children are being slowly eroded.

What President hasn't done that? Obama stoked the fear of Global Warming and fear of the police since the beginning of his administration. He also pitted group vs group in his bid to be elected and then re-elected.
Did you forget about "Cops were acting stupidly", comment which forced him to have a "Beer Summit" with Professor Gates and the Cop who showed up at his residence?

What you see as a safety net, is nothing more than another wealth redistribution scam. If you really cared about people and their future well being, you would let them keep more of their own money for their own care... Another baby boom is an excellent idea. The better the economy the longer SS lasts. The more that pay in the better. If the government decides to let people invest that money it will deplete the reserve. It can be invested when it is collected.

Children cost the parents $250,000 over the first 18 years (not to mention what it costs the country). Have salaries gone up that much?

I raised two children. They are both hetero sexual, where did I go wrong? I am not a millionaire, only middle class and I did it in Obama's **** economy.

I forgot to add they are worth every penny.

Because of their religion if they are Islamic. Non-Muslims are not considered human. Remember a 1/4 of the worlds population is taught that. Why don't we do things to fix that, instead of whining about everything else but that.

Yeah, I suppose only embryos are worth protecting. Once they are born they become a burden on the taxpayers. I think that's the Conservative talking point, isn't it.
