Do what supermajorities have been in favor of for years: increase taxes on the super wealthy. Stop cutting taxes for the rich. That would be a start. Duh.

Increasing taxes on the super wealthy wouldn't do much to decrease inequality as a majority of the money would be sucked up by the govt and very little of it would make it down to the people you want it to go to.

I suppose we could increase taxes on everyone to the levels of the Scandinavian countries. The high taxes are shared by everyone in those societies, not just the wealthy. In general we would see an increase of our taxes to over 50% and into the 60% range for most Americans. This includes the people you think are being screwed by the current tax code.
