Also in the 1950's corporations actually paid taxes rather than getting subsidies paid by middle class tax payers.
We earn less, we pay more in taxes and the corporations dip into that tax money for subsidies because we can buy less now. It is a catch 22, damned if we do damned if we don't.
Corporations will get their pound of flesh even if they don't deserve it while they spend millions to lobby to keep the status quo.
These corporations are only hurting themselves in the long run.
If the corporations just paid a living wage and paid their fair share of taxes they would prosper and not need to lobby and hide their wealth in shady offshore banks.
In time it will all catch up to them and they will without a doubt fail.
The middle class is angry about paying for poor people's entitlements that would not be necessary if corporations paid a living wage.
So they elect a rich, corporate, sweat shop, tax dodger to fix things. (the irony)
