@Baldimo,
So making the ultra rich pay their fair share of taxes would make us like Venezuela? Alabama already looks like Venezuela, while, earlier this month, the state of California's GDP passed that of France to become the sixth largest in the world. Now we can look like Russia where 1 in 10 have AIDS due to Mike Pence style governance. The poverty in many red states is worse than Venezuela. ...and just wait 'til Dodd-Frank is rolled back... Let's hope that Trump vote pays off for you Dimbo. (cynical)

@TheCobbler,
Out of the top 10 companies in the world, only Apple is growing while the others are losing revenue.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_companies_by_revenue

Apple is spending $5 billion to construct their Campus 2 a few blocks from where we live. We pass by there almost every day.

The Colossus Of America

Like the arrogant despot of Greek fame.
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates, Ayn Rand
A pitiless woman whose torch and flames disband
Privileged wealth and greed is her name
Mother of the rich from her selfish hand
Dims the world's eye her envy commands
The air bridged harbor now caters only to the few
We have become such storied pomp she marveled
With glutinous lips, "Give us your educated, your rich
Your one percent yearning to pollute and defile
The fundamentalist religious on our oil drenched shore
Send me the well off and austere
I lift my almighty dollar beside the corporate bank!"

@cicerone imposter,
The reason why they are losing money is because the middle class is being taxed to death and cannot afford to buy their products.

When the ENTIRE tax burden rests only on the back of the middle class then consumers cannot errmm... "consume".

Expect corporate "profits" to shrink even more as they skirt even more social responsibility.

A vibrant middle class makes for vibrant markets, simple as hell to understand.

The economy is a cyclical entity and when it is all take and no give then the cycle is broken and markets suffer and thus so do corporations.

These corporations think they are smart by avoiding taxes and outsourcing but in reality they are cutting their own throats.

They deserve to go under and for more ethical businesses to fill the vacuum and take their place.

Apparently if California is the sixth largest economy in the world business must be gaining in revenue.

Also, these businesses in California are generally known for paying their taxes and investing heavily in the communities they serve.

@TheCobbler,
It's not being taxed to death that's hurting the middle class. It's the wage stagnation.

@cicerone imposter,
It is actually both, middle class taxes and wages are both terrible.

Were taxes really higher in the 1950s?
https://www.aei.org/publication/were-taxes-really-higher-in-the-1950s/

Also in the 1950's corporations actually paid taxes rather than getting subsidies paid by middle class tax payers.

We earn less, we pay more in taxes and the corporations dip into that tax money for subsidies because we can buy less now. It is a catch 22, damned if we do damned if we don't.

Corporations will get their pound of flesh even if they don't deserve it while they spend millions to lobby to keep the status quo.

These corporations are only hurting themselves in the long run.

If the corporations just paid a living wage and paid their fair share of taxes they would prosper and not need to lobby and hide their wealth in shady offshore banks.

In time it will all catch up to them and they will without a doubt fail.

The middle class is angry about paying for poor people's entitlements that would not be necessary if corporations paid a living wage.

So they elect a rich, corporate, sweat shop, tax dodger to fix things. (the irony)

No truer words. When workers earn less, they are unable to spend more in the market place, and that diminishes all spending. Many companies are so cheap on their wages, that workers are unable to purchase the very products they produce.

It's a push-pull scenario between the high salaries of the officers of the company, and the value of their stocks. Some has gotten so ridiculous, the CEOs earn 3-400 times the average wage of the company. It's the blame of their Board of Directors and some of the CEOs who should know better.

Some CEOs receive $1 annual salary, but they're worth billions by their ownership of stock.

BREAKING: Trump Lied On Candidate Disclosure Form
http://news.groopspeak.com/breaking-trump-lied-on-candidate-disclosure-form/

Tax evasion put Capone in jail, let's hope Trump can follow suit.

Imagine the sick soul of a person who has to lie and cheat just to avoid paying their fair share of taxes.

Taxes that feed the infrastructure that brings patrons to their establishment.

Once again, corporations that have no clue that their policies are their own worst enemy.

Eventually people will be driving dirt roads to get the Trump's golf course.

With the wear and tear on the Mercedes eventually people will not want to make the trip.

Idiotic corporate logic to say the least...

@TheCobbler,
You use the term fair share with no idea how to properly use it. Less than 50% of Americans pay little or no income tax and in fact a majority of those who don't pay any taxes get more back at the end of the year then they pay. So when you mention "fair share" it would seem that about half the people in the US don't pay their "fair share".

You ignorant bias keeps you from the facts. I have mentioned more than once on this site that I didn't vote for Trump, I voted for Gary Johnson. Pull your head out of your bias and actually pay attention to what is said here instead of what you want to read.
