Omigosh, that would be one perp walk I'd pop popcorn for. Couldn't possibly happen to a nicer guy.

@snood,
Here's the dope on Trump's threat to put Hillary in jail by appointing an Attorney General - most likely, Chris Christie. Impeachment for Trump. I hope he follows on his threat - if elected president.

This also shows once again that Trump doesn't know our Constitution, and how the powers of the president can be used.

Do you suppose the penitentiary will have a striped suit big enough?

@Blickers,
I hope he likes baloney and peanut butter. They say Top Raman is the new cigarettes in the prison economy these days.

I'll want a .gif of him turning himself in or being arraigned.

@Blickers,
What would be the actual charge? I know he's accused of dirty tricks with the traffic patterns, but wonder what that translates to, bu way of a formal charge?

@snood,
He's charged with abusing the powers of his office for doing that. The crime wasn't blocking traffic, it was using his office to do something outside the interest of the state and his obligation to the state as elected governor.

@snood,
He ought to get at least as much time as Dan Rostenkowsky got. Years. In a real prison.

The judge in a related trial has recommended that Christie be charged with "Official Misconduct". Which sounds mild, but.....
Quote:
Under New Jersey’s Official Misconduct law, N.J.S.A. 2C:30-2, a public servant can be prosecuted for acts committed in their official capacity and, if convicted, imprisoned for up to ten years.

The trial won't begin unless Christie is legally charged. It is the prosecutor's judgment whether to go forward with the charge or not. The judge presiding over the trial of the other people involved in Bridgegate has sent a letter to the prosecutor saying that in the judge's opinion, enough evidence has emerged to charge Christie. From what I understand, it is still the prosecutor's call whether or not to go forward.

I do not know the New Jersey legal system, so I don't know how much the judge's letter would influence a prosecutor to go forward with the case. Seems to me that since the prosecutor's office has to argue cases in front of that judge in the future, they would pay a lot of attention to that letter and not ignore it. But that's just a guess on my part.

@Blickers,
Doesn't a lot depend on whether or not the prosecutor thinks he has knowledge of enough hard evidence to get a conviction?

Are Americans who are posting on this thread doing anything in real life to help get out the vote? helping people get to polling stations? helping them arrange write-in ballots? what's going on on the ground?

@ehBeth,
There is a huge nationwide effort on Hillary's part and the democratic party to register voters and get them to the polls.

A friend of mine goes almost every night to the phone banks and makes calls to people in Maine who are the hillbillies up north in "Trump country" and she calls to debate the finer points of their hateful stance.

I feel sorry for her having to do this but she does it.

I on the other hand have 30 thousand followers that I post memes about this coming election nearly from dawn to dusk and beyond.

I don't know of any democrats sitting idle in this election. They are registering voters and seeing they can make it to the polls on election day or helping them with mail-in ballots.

Many Trump followers have hit the internet to try and counter our memes and they only show how hateful they are.

Sure the memes I post are hateful but they are Donald's own words and deeds.

Unlike Donald's people who simply resort to sexist, racist and homophobic attacks that only drive more people away from him.

Hillary really has morality on her side and all of the "lies" she has supposedly told are just another sexist attack on her character.

The news media has finally openly turned on Trump and they are also finally doing their part to expose his hate.

Across the country only one single obscure newspaper has endorsed Trump.

Even conservative newspapers have endorsed Hillary including news outlets that have never endorsed candidates ever.

Some newspapers have also apologized for giving Trump any positive coverage.

The courts are blocking any and all voter suppression also complimenting the effort to expel Trump from the electorate.

But... with all of this we cannot become lax and must remain resolute down to the very last vote.

Obama's legacy and our supreme courts are at stake, two things that keep us ever diligent and on the move.

In all of this, it has become evident and exceedingly clear that most religious people in our country have little to no morals and they can become the problem rather than the solution. Sickening really.

And then there are just the stupid masses that just follow Trump along for the most inane and selfish reasons.

The democratic party is the most unified it has ever been and we are the only thing keeping the US from complete and utter implosion.

I was raised a republican but today I am so proud to be a democrat and to know that I have upheld the US Constitution, a litmus test for any politician seeking office.

We democrats will not stand idle and let racism, misogyny and hate take over our government.

We have had 8 years of shameful racially motivated obstruction and enough is enough! Time for these haters to take walk and I will do what is legally in my power to see that it is so.
