I haven't had a comment removed in a year and if you look at it, it should never have been removed though the person it was addressed to HAS been removed since, his c**t comment was allowed to stand.

[Hawkeye made a comment about he not having a c**t in one of his anti-women tirades and izzy and I both responded in variations of "not having one did not mean he wasn't one" (my post exactly) - Izzy and I had our posts removed and we were both suspended for several weeks) and Hawkeye's post stood and he kept posting blithely on until he escalated his unchecked behavior to a six month's suspension.]

Extremely odd what gets condemned here and what passes for civil discourse.

You really enjoy this type of straw man argument, don't you? If someone calls you out for something, you point to someone else doing worse and make believe like they must not care about that. As if it's not entirely possible to call you out on your insults and also disapprove of other people's insults - more so, even, if the insults are worse. (And you yourself have posted worse than this too, in recent times.)

Now - and this is important - I don't generally go around telling people off about their insults. It'd be an endless endeavour. That's for moderation to take care of. But someone who habitually insults people but at the same time, in other posts, goes around touting how he doesn't insult people and its just those others who do that? That seemed a hypocrisy worth noting.

As for the comments you quote, I dunno. Seems like an oddly mixed bunch. Some call public figures (e.g. David Berg, or a particular Scottish street gang) names. That doesn't seem to be against any A2K rule, the way I read them: http://able2know.org/rules/ . Some include rude words, but they don't seem to be addressed to anyone in particular. The Game Nobody Understands thread, for example, is famous for people pasting in random snippets of text. That wouldn't seem to be against any rule either. Some do seem to be against the rules, and you should report them.

The way I read the rules - but do check it out for yourself - cussing is not against the rules. Attacking public figures isn't against the rules. Broadsides against "liberals", "conservatives", generically, is not against the rules. "Personal attacks on other members" are: "heated arguments are okay; mudslinging and calling each other names is not." Seems like a basic enough distinction.

Seems like when you don't like the responses to your charges you simply readjust the charges. Its dishonest debate and I am not going chase you around your fruit salad debate style.

I'd like to see you go after giujohn or Mark Noble or Tony for their crap.

At least 13 people have died in the catastrophic Louisiana floods and some 60,000 homes have been damaged in what the Red Cross is calling the worst natural disaster to strike the country since Superstorm Sandy in 2012.

Three Louisiana lawmakers — Reps. Steve Scalise, John Flemming and Sen. Bill Cassidy — were able to get much needed relief from the federal government when President Obama declared a disaster in their state the same day they made a request.

That federal money will go towards grants for temporary housing, home repairs and low-cost loans to cover uninsured property loss, among other dire needs.
