NYC elections official suspended over loss of 100,000 Democrats from voter rolls
Source: Rawstory

A longtime New York City elections official was suspended without pay Thursday, allegedly for removing the names of more than 100,000 Brooklyn Democrats from the voter rolls in what has been described as a clerical error.

Borough Office Chief Clerk Diane Haslett-Rudiano’s immediate suspension will remain in place pending an internal investigation.

Anonymous sources told the New York Daily News that Haslett-Rudiano would be forced out of her position over the voter roll debacle, which saw a staggering 8 percent of Brooklyn’s more than 1.2 million registered Democrats, or 102,717 people, purged from the city’s election rolls between Oct. 31 and April 2. Kings County (Brooklyn) was the only one in New York state that had voters purged in that period.

@bobsal u1553115,
Mrs. Clinton won the state 58% to 42%. Even if every one of those 100K votes went for Sanders-and of course they wouldn't- that's only 100K more votes for Bernie. Hillary won NY State by over 290,000 votes.

But if they can't cry foul, then they have to accept that more people are simply choosing Hillary and not Bernie. That might lead to them possibly having to make grownup decisions. Heaven forbid.

@snood,
This is what I mean about Hillary supporters rushing in heavy.

Who mentioned Hillary or the DNC anywhere in my post or in the entire article on the link? So quick to rise in defense even where's there's no scintilla of offense. This primary will not be over too soon for me.

I miss my friends.

I suppose any place where Bernie manages to get 40% of the vote is a stronghold.

Kings County
Clinton - 174,000
Sanders - 116,000

@parados,
Not to mention that he was polling at like 20% back in October when this started.....I'm sure this person decided that it was the perfect time to risk her job and the election.

@bobsal u1553115,
Reminders like these are why we need to focus on the senate (and the house) at least as much as the president.

@parados,
I dunno, what about 100,000 purged Democratic voters???? Do you claim to know which way their chads were going to fall?

@revelette2,
You know my feelings on that:

Congress and the Senate is most important.

We're getting a Democrat in the White House either way and at least we will get back the Senate and we'll start on the House and have it in four years.

@bobsal u1553115,
Let's see...
Quote:
Of the 126,000 Democratic voters taken off from the rolls in Brooklyn, Ryan said 12,000 had moved out of borough, while 44,000 more had been placed in an inactive file after mailings to their homes bounced back. An additional 70,000 were already inactive and, having failed to vote in two successive federal elections or respond to cancel notices, were removed.

There were 1,000,000 voters on the rolls before the purge in King's county.
There were 945,000 after the purge.
There were 290,000 votes case in King's county.
http://usuncut.com/politics/new-york-brooklyn-voter-purge/

Hillary got 174,236 votes to Bernie's 116,327.

I claim that there was no way there were 100,000 active voters who showed up at the polls and were unable to vote. Even if we assume they were all still there, the turnout still would have been about 30% or 30,000 voters. That wouldn't be enough to turn Brooklyn to Bernie. It wouldn't have been enough to gain more than a delegate or 2 nationwide. All I see is sore losers trying to claim they were cheated when there is no evidence of any cheating.

@TheCobbler,
If we take the house and senate we need to be ready to ram though Hillary's (Obama's) policies.

Lilly Ledbetter and equal pay for women?

How about taxing most churches and closing all corporate tax loopholes and havens? Ending many subsides (common sense subsidies only).

Strengthening (not weakening) Wall Street reforms.

LGBT protections nationwide.

Minimum wage increases nationwide.

Housing regulations to allow people to cheaply get into these millions of vacant houses.

A moratorium on fossil fuels.

A more concerted effort for world peace.

Better funding for Obama care and any reasonable modifications that the program needs.

Billions for education...

To stop people from shooting each other? (educate them...)

Consider, the very first mass gun murders occurred in schools... (Columbine)

Do you have any other recommendations that a democratic house and senate should address first?

Infrastructure and jobs bills?

Exponential increase of solar and wind?

Labeling GMOs?

New pipes for Flint Michigan?

Fully funded planned parenthood.

Immigration reform/amnesty?

Automatic voter registration?

An end to inappropriate gerrymandering of voting districts.

Gun legislation that holds manufacturers liable for their products and who they sell them to.

Fully funded science and arts!

Stricter regulations on police officers in predominantly black neighborhoods concerning gun use.

Overturn citizen united.

Strengthen unions in states damaged by republicans.

The greatest thing will be getting republicans out of office and ending their season of hate.

If dems get control I emphasize we need to ram through as many of these policies as we can in as little a time as we have control.

Smile

@TheCobbler,
Very good list, but too idealistic. It's a crazy world where the likes of Trump has followers/supporters.
