That could happen, because nothing is off the table yet. But if it does, I would be furious...as would almost everyone who is not a MAGA supporter. That would be acknowledgement that "no one is above the law" is just bullshit.

Trump is guilty...and I hope he pays a very large price for what he has done.

I'm not kidding Frank - I have to constantly remind myself of what this incredible POS has actually done. Because of the tapdancing, tiptoeing, and kid gloves the judges seem to be employing with him, it's almost easy to forget what kind of damage this guy tried to do (and HAS DONE).

This guy stole HUNDREDS of TOP SECRET DOCUMENTS and very likely shared their contents with people who don't have our best interests in mind. This guy tried through any means he could muster to OVERTHROW our way of electing a president, and stay in office as POTUS. These are offenses that should be punishable by DEATH, in my opinion. But at the absolute LEAST, we need to lock his ass in federal prison until he expires. That is the ONLY acceptable outcome of all the trauma he has put the country through, and the only appropriate message for those who harbor thoughts and ambitions of trying to do what he did AGAIN.

Johnson Promises to Be Greatest Speaker of the Seventeenth Century

“For years, time travel was the stuff of science fiction,” the newly elected Speaker said. “Now, as I take this majestic nation back four hundred years, I will make that dream a reality.”

I cannot for he life of me understand how there are so many people willing to consider giving him another bite at that apple. Trump is a disaster for this nation...and anyone who has not realized that is just stupid.

As a side note, I am having more and more trouble overlooking the tendency in that direction from some of the people I love or like. This is an existential predicament for America...and by reasonable extension, the rest of the world. Supporting Trump right now, in my opinion, is worse than supporting Hitler at the peak of his power.

I've been following that discussion, Izzy, and I see what you mean. Sometimes we get what we want...and find out that we were wrong to want it.

@Frank Apisa,
I voted remain.

The worst thing about is we were cast as naysayers and doom merchants, but it's turned out far worse than any of us said it would.

Republican crazed shooter on the loose in Maine!

CNN article excerpt concerning Robert Card.

"An account on the social media platform X with Card’s name and a photo that appears to be him, which has been taken offline, had a history of liking right-wing and Republican political content."

Comment:
Doesn't that kinda say it all?

Republican terrorism, at least 18 dead in Maine, courtesy of Elon Musk...

@TheCobbler,
The Maine Governor should ban X in the state.

TikTok is a kitten compared to X.

If Elon Musk is going to radicalize and turn republicans into terrorists, his "social network" should be banned.

@TheCobbler,
Consider this,

These homegrown terrorists are not creating a militia to take on our government, no, they are taking on "We the People".

They are angry for us voting their sorry ass, gerrymandering, election denying politicians out of office along with their seditionist, authoritarian dictator president.

These murderous rampages are not attacks against the government, they are attacking the electorate.

But if you consider that, "We the People" are the government then the picture become more clear.

They are attacking freedom, liberty, unity, tranquility, the common welfare, basically, the values of our US Constitution that grant our citizenry the right to vote and choose our leaders for their principles rather than their power, for their morals rather than their money.

Republican have declared war against our democracy and the many people who comprise of it.
We are in a battle against republicans trying to corrupt our elections in their favor and their terrorist minions, murdering our citizenry with their myopic view of the 2nd amendment.

They are not-pro life, they will murder life for authoritarian control. Control over our bodies, control over who we love and control over who rules us...

We have sane gun laws.

It only took one mass shooting.

If the shooter makes it to Florida he can say he was standing his ground.

@izzythepush,
I was trying to imagine if I was living not here but in another country, and I was observing the goings-on in the USA just over the last several years.

Two things in particular would be enough to thoroughly convince me that Americans had been somehow mass-afflicted with a peculiarly virulent type of insanity. I mean crazy-in-the-deep-brain-tissue-crazy sense.

1-The election of Trump as president, and subsequent stubborn support of him despite impeachments, indictments and felony charges, and 2-the refusal to address the ever-mounting numbers of mass shooting murders with gun regulation.

Thoroughly convinced.

The families left fatherless in the Maine shooting, we must be cautious not to provide charitable contributions to those suffering such great loss, so as not to offend republicans with our, "communism"... (cynical)

@Bogulum,
After everything that's happened I cannot see why you have those gun laws.

We had Brexit which was similar to Trump.

Btw, Cobbler decides to hold me personally responsible for Brexit so it's only fair to hold him personally responsible for all the mass shootings he keeps posting about.

@izzythepush,
Not sure I understand “I cannot see why you have those gun laws”.

Do you mean, you can’t see why we don’t have more regulation?

Or, are you saying that since people are still being shot and killed by the hundreds, you cannot see why we even bother to have any gun laws?

And I don’t see how Trump and brexit are alike, unless you mean the aspect of millions of people supporting something insane.

So, your assumption is that brexit is insane? Just after some clarification.
