Godwin’s law was about conversations ending when false analogies to the Nazis were used, terms like grammarnazi and feminazi being prime examples.

That’s what it is, yet right wing extremists take it to mean that they can behave exactly how they want, but we’re not allowed to call them Nazis any more.
