Hyperbole helps no one. You've been hearing of investigations with clear reasons to investigate. He should have been removed from office long since. Hopefully, if there are not any oppression of the votes from various means, Trump and Pence will be gone which works out better.

I hate the theatrics that are part and parcel of any issue that requires Congressional hearings.
This part of the confirmation process for our SCOTUS justices - the part that has them coming before members of Congress to answer questions - seems to me it has never been anything but pure posturing. Just pure kabuki to give all the wannabe folk heroes of the people a chance to ask the definitive gotcha question.
The only reason this kabuki (yeah, I like using the word) would be meaningful is if there was an actual chance to sway some senators votes. But we all know Mitch McConnell wouldn’t even allow this process to go forward until the votes were pre-locked in.
Now we have to have a week of seeing clips of Harris or Klobuchar or Warren asking questions that bring a moment of hesitation, or a flush of color to the nominee‘s cheeks. And endless punditry about what each pause or flush really means.
Then they go on and confirm.
Seems like such a waste.
