@TheCobbler,
What's more important is that a dnc lobbyist is backing a dnc candidate. Did do note that the guy has been working for the Podesta Group, A lobbyist firm in DC, I thought the DNC didn't like lobbying? ******* hypocrisy at its best.

Democrats are going to go on a negativity binge in an attempt to ridicule their way into the White House in November, and that is going to cause the public to dislike them, which is going to win Trump a second term, so in that sense this cartoon is accurate.

Either the Michigan governor is blind or I am missing something. I have looked at media pictures taken of the protests and I cannot find one noose or confederate flag or swastika. Now I don't want to believe a politician would lie about something easily checked, so I would love to see a picture, just one, showing the protestors with one of the items she says they had. (I did see plenty of weapons, which I felt should have been left at home, but that's just me.) I saw lots of American flags. So maybe she is just stupid and does not know the difference between a confederate flag and an American flag.

Without pictures, I think she is just another lying politician trying to demonize those who disagree with her. But if anyone can help me here by pointing me to pictures that can be verified of Michigan protestors with any of these items, I will gladly take back my opinion that she is a liar.

@ehBeth,
Yep, I just found that one and was coming back to edit my post. While there was that one, it was by no means indicative of any white supremacy nonsense as she tried to hint at, but rather an attempt to make the point that she was comparable to a nazi by keeping the state shut down. So while I guess she was technically correct in seeing a swastika, she was being misleading in trying to paint the crowd as racist.

At least that is my belief based on one sign. (I did see one other one that showed a swastika on a similar sign with the reporting that these were the only two signs seen at the rally. Again, I think the governor is wrong in trying to make it seem as though swastikas were prevalent.)

Thanks ehBeth.

@ehBeth,
Don't need more. You gave me what I needed to see. That is why I asked.

So I take back my statement that she is a liar. But, based on pictures of the crowds, you had to look really hard to find what she leads one to believe was prevalent. I don't see it.

But I will acknowledge that there may have been more than most of the crowd pictures showed.

Again, thanks for going through the effort ehBeth.

I am not going to post the flags with nooses on that I found pix of from the Michigan demonstration. I'm really not comfortable with spreading that imagery or messaging. Maybe the confed flag with snakes instead?

honestly - no effort once you get into protestors' social media

oddly (?) in terms of news media coverage, it was easier to find pix in Windsor media than in Detroit/Lansing media but that may be because I'm using google.ca

https://www.vox.com/2020/4/30/21231217/trump-cuomo-whitmer-coronavirus-covid-19-approval-rating-polls-world-leaders-governors

Quote:
We live in a polarized political era, but structural polarization is probably not the primary factor driving down Trump’s approval bump. A new nationwide survey found that residents in all 50 states thought their governors were doing a better job of handling the coronavirus outbreak than Trump. And governors in deeply divided purple states — like Gretchen Whitmer in Michigan, Tony Evers in Wisconsin, Roy Cooper in North Carolina, and Mike DeWine in Ohio — have seen some of the largest surges in popularity.

“Governors do tend to be seen through less partisan lenses than presidents, which could explain some of the difference,” said Patrick Murray, the director of the Monmouth Polling Institute. “However, the amount of movement [in approval ratings] we’re seeing for governors no matter what state they are in suggests the lack of movement for Trump is unique to him.”

What’s been striking about Trump’s political response to the coronavirus is how little he has done to try to foster any sort of unity.

@ehBeth,
It's okay though, because, as Trump has stated a few times, he takes 'no responsibility '.

(when he sees these dismal numbers, Trump knows it's the fault of FAKE MEDEA! ((the Twitter post is later corrected to change MEDEA into MEDIA))).

Do any of the anti-Trumpists take any responsibility for all the bad feelings and diversion from actual discussion of politics they have caused?

It's not just people who support Trump who feel such personal attacks are hurtful. It's one thing to criticize for the sake of making an ideological point, but so much of the anti-Trump rhetoric is just designed to hate the man into extinction. It is the wrong way to approach critique of any person, not just Trump.

If you are bothered by people who did the same thing to Obama and/or Hillary Clinton, why not just take the high road and explain political views/ideologies instead of sinking to their level and attacking Trump?

Maybe it is because the haters who spew such vitriol aren't really partisan as much as they are looking for opportunities to lash anyone they can with painful words.

"Yawn," is nowhere near a convincing argument for anything.
