not exactly a question about your resolutions (but you can tell us your resolutions if you want)
what things do you plan to do in 2015 that will make it more fun than 2014 was for you?
make it good cuz I made this a question and I have a star to award!
Probably I will retire for good, about year's middle. I will give the question more thought later.
@ehBeth,
I've got a trilogy to finish.
@ehBeth,
Finish the MA thesis. Scout for a Ph.D program that'll have me. Get more and better photos of meteors, comets and whatnot. The Quadrantids are only about a week away, so with any luck and clear skies I'll be able to improve on last year's effort:
@ehBeth,
It's been a couple of years since I've visited home. So maybe a trip back to Massachusetts is in my near future.
Let me steep that question in my brain a little longer.
@ehBeth,
I must take a break from many things to finish up writing a textbook.
Like Edgar, I'll probably retire.
And....I'm visiting the US and Canada for the first time!
This year has not been much fun (apart from Christmas in Europe and a trip to Morocco and Portugal!)
....and Beth - what about you?
I'll throw my traditional more fun thing in the hopper.
More picnics.
Next year I want to switch it up a bit by having more picnics with different assortments of people.
@ehBeth,
"We" plan on finally getting our Divorces after 5 years, (long story) and plan our wedding for November.
I plan to get this new make-over business for real estate really up and running paying my old debts from the Franchise and build us an up-stairs large loft on our home, over looking the ducks...sip wine, check out the sunset, not work as hard.... Yet somehow work.... Now if I can do that in one year pfttttt but I'll start.
@ehBeth,
I'm going to Disney World.
Really. I am. There is a 6 year old that doesn't know it yet so don't tell her.
I'm a mess and have been for a long time re income, my own fault, and I'm not sorry re choices. There was even precedent that gave me a clue. Would not have missed the ride.
Bring up the Mamas and Papas.. go where you wanna to go.
On the other hand, I like life even here in a place I picked to move to that turned out, ah, so not me.
My recent enthusiasm is a review of our local native type nurseries and all the small plants I want from them. I've a big list, a lot of them plants I know well. Don't get me going, I'm up to about twenty.
The trick is to have them sell some/any small plants. I'm used to good nurseries with 2 or 4 inch pots, and many one gallons. Different environment, sigh.
There's one general place I like here, that has small pots for some few plants, though no two inch and the fours cost a fig.
@margo,
Oh yes! I already have a plan
Good luck to all with your plans for 2015. HAPPY NEW YEAR, and KEEP HEALTHY.
@FBM,
what area are you looking at for some more postgrad work?
You've got a good writing style, (even when youre being a bit snotty at some of your correspondents). I hope that you are able to best use that skill. Technical writing is mostly (IMHO) garbage prose that's covered in jargon and "inside phrases" so that its only accessible to a few.
@farmerman,
I have made up my own phrase for that: Exclusionary Jargon. As opposed to useful jargon, of course.
@ehBeth,
MY New Years Resolution is...to never again have a New Years resolution.
Then again wasn't that my last year's resolution.
