Do you sing to your cats?

Or whatever you have.

I just realised I was doing it and that I do it a lot.

Sebastian has always had his:
"Cheesy feet, cheesy feet
Ripe I cry!"

song.....but there are many others I notice
Is this weirder than is usual for pet owners? Of for me?

@dlowan,
No, but way back when I was a machinist, I used to sing to my engine lathe. I'm a terrible singer, but the sound came back from the rotating chuck and sounded real good.

How's about that for a digression?

@dlowan,
All my cats are in cat heaven, but I sing to my dogs, I still have two, but many other faithful companions have predeceased us. We loved all of our furry beasts, cats and dogs. Everyone should sing to our animal companions, it confuses them in a charming manner and enriches the human experience.

@glitterbag,
Mine seem to enjoy it. The songs I make up are not always complimentary so it's as well they don't understand. Do you ever make your dogs howl?

@dlowan,
Yes, when the bark at the mail man, I can start howling and get both vizslas caterwauling. I'm so glad no one can see me when I serenade the dogs into a frenzy.

Many years ago - when Bailey first came to live with me - I bought Dogs for Dummies.

The author recommended that you have a song for each pet.

Bailey's song was "you are my sunshine". I sang it to him a lot over the years - and sang it to him a few times yesterday and overnight - I hope it was one of the last things he was aware of before he died this morning.

Set used to sing Brown Eyed Girl to Cleo. I sang Walk Like an Egyptian for her.

You've made me realize I don't have a song for Bella yet.

@dlowan,
My best friend and I looked at one of these yesterday

wondered if one or more of cats in residence at the farm might like it.

I used to sing to my cats. My singing days are over. So are my cat days. But it's nice to remember.

When I was growing up the family dog only howled when my sister practiced her clarinet.

I mainly meow at my cat when he meows us. It seems to serve the same purpose as singing.

U might consider clicking on my posted link,
its top choice on the page
(it offers u 2 groomers for the price of one)
and clicking on "SHOP" then buying it on-line
(i.e., just fill out the form, including your street address
and use your plastic to pay for the merchandise).

I know nothing of international commerce,
but with the merchandise being as non-controversial
as 2 plastic brushes, presumably it woud be accomplished
with little interference. No harm if Austrailian Customs
opens the box.

@dlowan,
All the time. Usually Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush.
It's me, it's Kit-eee can't you see..
I once came upon a friend atop a silage pit serenading cattle. Pitch-fork doubling as microphone while warbling Whitney Houston's Greatest Love of All. I allowed him to finish before announcing my presence. He wasn't in the least embarrassed. "They (the cattle) looked like they needed entertaining."
