Of course, Centigrade in the winter, Fahrenheit in the summer. So on a really hot Summer's day you can say how close to 100 the temperature is and on a cold Winter's day you can say how many degrees below zero it is.

We 've always done it that way with Fahrenheit.
Google tells me that 9 degrees centigrade is 48.2 F.

The rain got worse.

When I was in Arizona, it was not deemed strange
for it to go above 12O F.

Official Menopausal Temperature Gauge:

100 F/38 C HOT!!! Air conditioning required 2/7. Hot flashes are a cruel joke. Halter tops and Daisy Dukes are worn everywhere, even on job interviews.
90 F/32 C Hot! Do NOT feed soup. Equivalent to a standard hot flash. If a hot flash occurs, it's barely noticed except for added sweating. Shorts and tank tops are worn everywhere.
80 F/27 C Awesome although the higher end is somewhat hot flash-y. Short sleeves are worn; shorts or long pants are fine.
70 F/21 C Awesome although the cooler end requires a hoodie or sweater unless a hot flash arrives. Then all bets are off. Long pants only.
60 F/15.5 C Awesome so long as a hoodie is worn. Hot flashes negate this. Sleeves are elbow-length.
50 F/10 C Decent but hoodie must be accompanied by gloves. Hot flashes help and can bring everything into the 70 or 80 F range. Same apparel as for 60 F.
40 F/4.4 C Cool and the lower end requires a vest over the hoodie. Hot flashes can bring everything to around the 60 F range. Sleeves go long.
30 F/-1 C Cold! Winter jacket is worn over hoodie. Hot flashes, sadly, are lost as body responds with being cooler than normal because **** you, Mother Nature.
20 F/-6.7 C Cold! Winter jacket and hoodie are accompanied by long underwear.
10 F/-12 C Cold! Apparel for 20 F sees the addition of glove liners. Second pair of socks is required.
0 F/-17.8 C Cold! Apparel for 10 F sees the substitution of boots for sneakers.
-10 F/-23 COLD! Walks outside are for the purposes of shoveling the drive or getting the newspaper. Full-on oven cooking is rediscovered as Thanksgiving happens in February.
-20 F/-28.9 COLD! Walks outside are for the purpose of getting the newspaper. Public transportation is used if at all possible.
-30 F/-34.4 C COLD! I'll read the paper online. I'll work from home.
-40 F/-40 C MOTHERFUCKING COLD!!!!! No one is safe.

the dirty little secret about Florida s that they hve about 5 decent months of bearable temps a year and then it gets unbearably hot.
I had an apartment in Mt Dora when I was doing research down there. The winter was great and the spring was getting hot, the summer was much much hotter and autumn was almost unbearable ( hot but no wind except for an occasional hurricane )
