He got sued and almost arrested. His defense was "I gotta wooden leg, it couldn't have happened.

What it was, was "great man" syndrome. Very effective against young women and men.

Up until the late 70s he was regularly in receipt of corporal punishment, slipper cane etc.

In an early Annual Dennis makes a super soapbox cartie by taking lots of stuff from his dad's car.

His dad turns the car into a motorised whacking machine with flippers attached to the flywheel.

No wonder we all accepted being hit back then.
