@edgarblythe,
Here's a rule of thumb Very Happy
Thumb up the best two or three that catch your fancy.
Don't thumb up your own because it's a given that yours is a good one.
Never thumb down.
All the contributions are worthy

@panzade,
I would need two accounts to thumb myself.
There are a number of people's responses that deserve thumbs up. Guess I will start doing so.

@panzade,
<Agree>

I probably thumb up too many, must improve my perspicacity. But... so many are funny to me. Maybe I'll wait a bit to thumb and then pick my favorites, but I wouldn't want to forget to. I'll try that out though.

@ossobuco,
It really doesn't matter how many you thumb up.
I recognize a thumber-upper right away.
Sometimes I do six, sometimes only one.
In the last month or so some toons are coming up with 6 and 7 .
I just submit one every week in hopes we'll be recognized.

But now they know I am a potential thumbs up. What if it hurts their feelings to know I am not amused by some of them? Very Happy

@panzade,
I've wondered about submitting with real life names .. would Bob Mankoff or whoever reviews (I think he reviews them all, poor sap, kidding, we know I like him) think we were plagerizing from some knowledge site that has a lot of posters with usernames (some of them funny too, who the hell is ossobuco?). I'm never the funniest, I know it, so the question is not a personal worry, but some of us are damned good.

Anyway, thanks for trying.
The last issue where I saw the announced three best - I forget which issue and which toon - was the first time in a while that I thought all three were quite funny. I'm somewhat behind on my reading - so much interesting stuff lately, gadzooks.

@ossobuco,
Tell me about it!
My New Yorker issues are stacked up like the landing strip at O'Hare.
One can only submit with a subscription, so go for it osso.

@edgarblythe,
Just thumb the ones you like. Or thumb the ones you like when the cartoon changes. I'm more of an fan of the A2K posters. Some of the captions are really brilliant.

@glitterbag,
I thumbed up somebody today. I try to not see the poster, but only the caption.
