@nononono,
Quote:Society at large does view rape as a more serious crime than murder. And that's because of gynocentrism. Women are concurrently infantilized and deified, and men are demonized and ignored.
I know of no one who views rape as a more serious crime than murder--nor do our laws reflect that.
What is the nonsense with "gynocentrism"? Surely you don't think that our entire society views things from an exclusively female perspective? Are you that dumb and uneducated? Have you consumed that much of the men's rights Web sites Kool Aid?
"Women are concurrently infantilized and deified, and men are demonized and ignored"--oh crap, you have, indeed, been downing that Kool Aid, apparently by the bucketful, and you do nothing but regurgitate the men's rights activists party line. You're the only one posting in this thread who is actually actively pushing a particular ideology. Men, as a group are neither being demonized nor ignored--if you haven't noticed, they're running the country--firmly in command of all three branches. But, you want to enjoy your pity party, go right ahead. I decline to join in.
And I've yet to be "deified" but it sounds like it might be fun.
Sorry, your Kool Aid spiked drivel fails to interest me. I'm not even willing to waste the time to respond to most of it, reading it was time-wasting enough.
And your comments about Cosby show little awareness that he targeted very young vunerable women, who posed no threat to him, and by the mid--60's he was already the star of a hit TV series, had a thriving stand up career, and already had the power and clout to make these women fearful of speaking out.
In the court of public opinion, the preponderance of the evidence suggests the accusations against Cosby are true.
Quote:Cosby's name has been ruined.
It should be, given what at least 20 women have accused him of doing to them.
The pity is this all didn't come out sooner.
I can't join you in being a bleeding heart for all the convicted rapists sitting in our prisons, or for Cosby either. That's not where I choose to squander my sympathy.
