Scrat, Your kind of humor only offends people. Why haven't you learned from the negative reaction of people you have insulted? You're not witty or humorous - only offensive.

Buncha partisan crap goin' on here, IMHO. Krugman is as ridiculously agenda-ized on The Left as is Savage on The Right. Any who take either seriously are not to be taken seriously.

And I take NEITHER seriously. (Which was precisely my point, my fine, feathered friend!) Cool

I soooo love barking with the big dogs!

CI - I know I rub you the wrong way sometimes, as you do me. But at the end of the day I also know that you don't take this stuff too seriously, and that you'll get over it and we'll find realms of commonality and agreement in future discussions. We all take the gloves off once in a while, and still no one really gets hurt, so lets all lighten the hell up and remember that at the end of the day, it isn't so much important who is right and who is wrong, but rather that I am smarter and better looking than the lot of you. Cool

Scrat, I've always known I'm one of the ugliest man on this planet, but that doesn't give you the right to insult me! Wink

I hope Dean gets the nod for the Dems. I like his chances against Bush more than the others. I still wish McCain would run either as a Dem or an ind. I think it was a great loss for this country that he lost the primary to Bush last time around.

Look at how the cartoonist has drawn eyes very close together (= idiot) for both candidates, while the media/PR guy has normal eyes. And the guy who drew it is a media guy...

same cartoon could show Bush being portrayed as a moderate standing next to someone even further right than he is. Its all pretty much relative. But its nice to see Kucinich portrayed as a liberal (I approve) and Dean as a moderate (he is) btw I favor Kucinich.

Dys -- I'm exceedling proud of Dean, or possibly of myself for having predicted something about Dean (!) and that is the major, laudable service he's done in dragging the others out of the lethargy and into the light. He has provoked and challenged. I don't entirely include Kucinich in this because he's his own man, but K's modus operandi/fund-raising is copped from Dean (rightly). Gephardt has actually started to say something, has fire in belly, grit in statements. I really think Dean has contributed to this motivating of Dem candidates. The only one who hasn't clearly benefitted is Kerry.

Dys -- Have you seen this article? Might interest you...

Quote:
Wellstone liked Kucinich, but you can bet that if he were alive he would remind his friend that progressives have to worry less about sounding ideologically pure notes and more about appealing to the great mass of voters. Though Kucinich mirrors Wellstone's ideology, it is Dean who has recognized the importance of framing Democratic issues with an eye toward their popular appeal. He has, as well, poured resources into the kind of grassroots organizing that characterized Wellstone's campaigns.
Still, the emotion that at least in part powers Dean's campaign--anger at Bush--would have troubled Wellstone, even if that anger is as much a matter of what Dean backers want to hear as how Dean crafts his appeal. Wellstone believed a politics based on anger, as opposed to optimism, might win one election.

Interesting you should mention Wellstone, Tart. I recall my thoughts on seeing the Memorial Service whch turned into a partisan pep rally. I concluded then The Dems were committed to a downhill ride akin to their 1972 performance.
