California can have him, he most likely won't do any more damage than Davis did. But then, he won't make things any better either.

I recently said that I was as worried, or more worried, about the voting populace than I was about who the ultimate Dem. nominee might be. If the victory is that big for Arnold in California, we have cause for worry.

Which would seem to make him qualified for the presidency. Rolling Eyes If the Hitler allegations were accurate he is right in line with the current administration.
Now, I'm going to wait for the official results before I begin to bemoan the average intelligence (or lack thereof) of the California electorate, but didn't most of us expect celebrity to trump issues?

I expected anyone else to trump Davis, but hoped that people wouldn't take leave of their senses altogether.

I was actually hoping for Larry Flynt, if only for the ridiculousness factor. Wink

I think that factor is being voted in, as we speak.

I was telling my husband I would have voted for McClintock. I'm not anti-Arnold, but California? A huge disasterous state with more complicated problems than half the other states put together? First political (or Hell) administrative job...?

The only bright spot is he can attract brilliance. Hope he does. I'm really still amazed he took it on.

Wishing him and Cali good luck...

Davis: "I don' wanna talk about it"

Quote:
Asked if he thought he would lose the recall section of the ballot, Davis told reporters he was not in the mood to discuss that but added, "There is plenty of time for post-mortems tomorrow."

I rather doubt he'll run whining to The Courts. Obviously, a landslide defeat is not a strong bargaining chip, apart from the fact he's already had some disappointment from that quarter. I somehow also doubt a smooth, amicable transfer of power. This circus ain't over yet, by a longshot.

Yep. A freaking idiot in the Cali House says he'll sponser the Arnold Bill--against sexual battery in the workplace... Some are talking of giving Arnold 100 days, before instituting another recall.

And the people of California continue to be screwed...

Schwarzenegger Win Could Have Downside for Bush

One side of that two-headed coin I alluded to earlier.

Warning: The following is a joke.

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."

The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You're in a hot air balloon approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2,346 feet above sea level. You are 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude."

She rolled her eyes and said, "You must be a Republican."

"I am," replied the man. "How did you know?"

"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to make of your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me."

The man smiled and responded, "You must be a Democrat."

"I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you know?"

"Well," said the man, "you have no idea where you are or where you're going. You've risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and you expect ME to solve your problem. You're in EXACTLY the same position you were in before we met, but somehow, now it's MY fault!

A negative is possible.

Arnold could also stump for Bush and (R) Cali candidates and have a much different result...

I will stay up for 15 more minutes and then go to bed. At my age, I have stayed up late for far too many disappointing elections ever again to wait for the bitter end. So keep me informed. The last thing I want is to watch/listen to talking heads analyzing this and that. Instead I am listening to a perfectly wonderful collection of operatic arias - and not Wagnerian.

Networks:
"Landslide Davis Defeat"
"Schwarzenneger 'Modest' Victory"
"Prop 54 'Overwhelmingly' Defeated"
"Schwarzenneger festivities under way"
"Davis "'Somber', little cheer at HQ"
"Bustamante 'subdued', HQ is quiet"
"McClintock: 'The voters have chosen', HQ quiet"

Different words here and there, but the same story all around.

Now, all Arnold, and the Republicans, need is a miracle to turn California around.
