Either that couple does nothing other than have sex, a religious fanatics who take the suggestion to be fruitful and multiply... literally (8 of the kids have biblical names) or they're ego maniacs.

I believe that someone could really want that many kids. Two sets of twins in there, too.

From the point of view of resources, pollution etc., I believe that couples shouldn't have more than 2 kids - giving a 1:1 ratio of replacement down the generations and at least slowing down the destruction of the planet. 3 is not so bad, but 4 or more (on purpose) is just selfish, IMHO.

Well, in Arcansas and in the USA in general a family with 15 kids is rather an exception from the general trend. But in the Third World procreation takes place at such high rates, that it seriously endangers the Earth. Fertility rate in Angola is 6.38 per female, Burkina Faso ?- 6.24 , Gaza Strip ?- 6.17, in Burundi ?- 5.99, in Afghanistan ?- 5.64 (numbers taken from the site World Factbook). All these countries are unable to provide their people with any guarantees of good future, so this high fertility rate is tantamount to creation of millions potential criminals and terrorists.
For comparison purposes: fertility rate in the USA is 2.07 per woman, in Germany ?- 1.37, in Israel ?- 2.5, in the UK ?- 1.66, in Sweden ?- 1.54, in Japan ?- 1.38.
