The article is a superb example of that which it criticises. It reveals the writer to be ignorant, untruthful, incapable of analysis, xenophobic, paranoid and brainwashed.

Don't know where you are thinking of. The internet is not regulated in Indonesia or Malaysia. Neither is particularly repressive. Neither has a tradition of civil unrest or vigilantism. Ethnic Chinese are not heavily persecuted in either country.

Keep thinking.....

There are about 300,000 Muslims in Australia. Why do you ask?

The writer condemned the incidents at Abu Ghraib, but quite correctly pointed out they pale in comparison to the beheadings of Perle and Berg.

How exactly?! We have images of smirking US servicemen posing with the bodies of Iraqis that they have beaten or tortured to death - something this cut-rate Coulter seems to ignore. Who sent them there? The multi-culturalists! Who made them do these things? The multi-culturalists! And who exposed and betrayed them? The multi-culturalists! WTF??

And this 'pornography' BS?

In my view, this is possibly the result of a culture saturated with runaway pornography.

She actually means the United States. Obviously a nation so steeped in images of S&M and forced sodomy that the average American overseas just has to get a few of the locals, some whips and chains and start filming. WTF??

What I can and must do is suggest--no implore--President Bush to send more troops to Iraq immediately and to use all means at our disposal to stop the Islamists in their tracks--at least for another 500 years. Otherwise, we will be annihilated.

So, she wants troops committed for the next 500 years!?!?!

What then? Is that when the rapture is due? Nobody told me!

Which equals about 1.5% of population - and growing rapidly - mainly through immigration.

I recently asked my dentist "what is you christian name" he replied "I don't have a christian name". You guessed it - a Bosnian Muslim. Good dentist and nice guy but I suppose I should be wary lest he cuts off my head someday.

Ah, Perc - as I understand it most of the Sept 11th terrorists were in the US on tourist visas, right?

I am unsure, as I said, what the number of muslim citixens has to do with it.

According to perception, all terrorists are muslims - or maybe all muslims are terrorists ?

That statement is a prime example of bigotry Perception.

Gautam- Nowyou know better than that. I hope.

Let me quote from the leading scholar of Islam in the United States-One Bernard Lewis who wrote a seminal essay in 1990 and many books since.

Professor Lewis wrote that

"In the classical Isalinst view, to which MANY MUSLIMS ARE BEGINNING TO RETURN, the world and all mankind are divided into two: The House of Islam, where the Muslim law and faith prevail, adn the rest, known as the House of Unbelief...WHICH IT IS THE DUTY OF MOSLEMS ULTIMATELY TO BRING TO ISLAM...Ultimately,the struggle of the fundamentalist is against two enemies, secularism and modernism. THIS IS NO LESS THAN A CLASH OF CIVILIZATIONS>"

end of quote.

Gautam- Do you deny that this is the philosophy of the SMALL BUT FANATIC ALQAEDA WHAABISTS that Professor Lewis talks about?

BoWoGo says;
Nah Nah Nah, my abuse is worse than your abuse.

I submit that it is this kind of thinking that led to the Holocaust.

The German people were led to believe that the "abuse" caused by the left wingers, Socialists and Communists( supposedly but erroneously made up solely of Jews, according to Adolf Hitler) during the Weimar Republic, was eroding their Folk Culture.

We all know what happened.
For Bowogo to attempt to make a moral equivalence between Saddam Hussein's policy of severing the right arms of those who dared to trade in American Currency( they received a tattoo on their foreheads as a bonus) to anything that happened in Abu prison is ridiculous.

BoWoGo apparently doesn't know that the difference between societies is that not only do we punish the miscreants( court martials coming up and some completed) we also give life and hope to the Iraqis who have had their hands cut off and their ears removed by Saddam. Surgeons in Houston have given robotic prosthetics to those who have had their right arms cut off by Hussein and Coalition surgeons have alsready restored, through plastic surgery, the ears of those who lost them when Saddam ordered them to be cut off.

The inability to have a perspective and to view all depredations, small and large, officially sanctioned and individually based, punished and unpunished, life threatening and not life threatening, is the same kind of thinking that the Nazis indulged in when they recounted the excesses of the Weimar Republic as justification for the murders of Millions.

Perhaps Saddam could have taught Hitler something. I don't think Hitler knew about feeding people feet first into shredders.

Prior to 9/II our visa control was non-existent-----there is some semblence of control now so we aren't quite so concerned about those coming in. We are however very concerned about those who have been here several years------on visas who never report in----we have lost control of those people--------because we were a free and unsuspecting society.
Have any of you ever heard of a "sleeper cell"?

That's OK bunny keep living in your dream world-----you've never had an attack have you? We had not either-----until 9/II.

I guess the first attack at the WTC wasn't significant, not to mention all the intelligence that there was an impending threat.

Clinton didn't believe it was significant and Richard Clarke didn't think it was significant enough until after Clinton left office and he got demoted by Rice. Then he thought it significant enough to write a book about.

It really was hillarious that during the infamous Clarke testimony, everyone was asking-----why didn't Bush attack Afghanistan----PREEMPTIVELY?????? Figure that one out.

We've had Bali, dear.

Perhaps you don't read international news?

It hasn't made me prejudiced against an entire population, though.

I don't see Perception as being prejudiced against an entire population either.

I do see him as being properly cautious though. How many middle easterm men between the ages of 15-35 need to blow themselves and a bunch of other people to make you cautious? 3000 was enough for me...
