Here is a partial of your grand repeat from Roosevelt:

"Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or anyone else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about any one else".

THE TRUTH IS THE KEY PHRASE:

If only a tiny fraction of the allegations against the President were true he should be impeached but he has not-----why????---------because the really bad stuff is not true.

We all can accept the truth-----what I find abhorant are the lies and slander such as those made by Michael Moore and Al Franken. But you see there is no hint of punishment for those who speak lies-----I don't understand it.

Everything is relative Kickycan-----todays slander and lies have no relevance to your grand article.

One person's truth is another person's slander.

We should all be free to speak what we think is the truth. And be called upon it if it turns out we have spoken a lie, yes. But not be stopped from speaking what we hold to be true in the first place.

Note that Roosevelt didn't write: "Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full liberty to tell the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly necessary to blame him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right, that is, after your opinion about the matter has been irrefutably confirmed by the courts or Congress." Which is logical if only because courts and Congress tend to (and can only) act after one has come out with stuff.

Be careful the neocon's "truths" are accepted here abouts and the real truths shut threads down and get their posters kicked off :sad:

They can't handle the truth!

Probably just dont wanna handle shouting posts that consist of nothing but some unargued slogan like "BUSH IS A MORON" or "WE NEED TO GET BUSH OUT NOW" in huge colour-font type. Useless, those are. What in heaven's name are those supposed to achieve?

Second thought, those alone probably aint enough to get a thread shut down. But I sure wish they'd disappear.
