I actually agree with you on that one. Cops wearing cams would hold them accountable and clear confusion.

In any case, if a police man or woman can not take subdue a suspect without beating them bloody, then perhaps there should more efficient training in the police academies.

Yes it definitely applies to women, I doubt too many women police officers wins out in a fist fight with a more than average male suspect, so alternative methods would be all to the good.

No, more like non lethal martial arts or something. I don't pretend to know the answers, but surely there are answers if better minds would just put their minds to it. But yes, if there are not other alternatives, then the cop has the right to defend themselves. I only wish suspects do as well when it looks like they are going to beat to a bloody pulp.

I'm reading the non fiction Blue Blood, by Edward Condon. No summary from me at this point - it's a slow and interesting read. Glad I ran into the book, one of my buys from GoodWill - it's from 2004, covers a lot of NYC police history from his view with a relative as a policeman there in 1908, and other relatives since, plus his own. Smart thoughtful writer, so far.

I am on target, This is my thread, I say Ferguson was not some random happening and it certainly has not been proven that Brown actually did anything let alone try to grab a cops gun over a jay walking beef.

The toughest most ready to beat to the street and handcuff someone/anyone cops I know are the female 6th street bicycle cops in Austin. Those women can issue a beatdown as thoroughly as any male cop I ever saw.

The truth is most cops never fire their handguns on the streets in their entire career. Being a cop is a pretty darn safe job. Being black, between 12 and 30, in a hoodie, unarmed is a lot more dangerous. And cops kill and beat too many white folks, too.

Certain black people resist arrest so mike brown must have been resisting arrest. Ok. Can't do that either. Guess we have to use EVIDENCE. You got nothing.

You hit on it exactly. A well trained cop with a nightstick can subdue any without hitting them in the face or the head. The problem is that the people that are hired as policemen dont get veted by head doctors as they should. Some of them are sadists who use their authority to beat the hell out of people for the high it gives them.

America itself is taking a beating here. Keep whining.
