Foolish - you have given an immense amount of power over to this woman. (you actually avoided family gatherings because of "them"?)
Try to put this into perspective: she is moving on and making new friends and you are stuck in the past, hurt because she feel in love with a man you had no right to - and didn't care about you.
You feel "betrayed" by both of them when in reality, they are just living their life.
