Correct use of the word 'nevertheless'

Hi all!
While I was texting with a friend of mine, she said the following:
"We'll talk about this later tonight!"
Half an hour later, she replied:
"Nevertheless, we'll talk tomorrow."
And so I, being the great friend I am, told her her use of the word 'nevertheless' was incorrect. She stubbornly kept believing her use of the word was correct, so I bet her €1,-.

It would be much appreciated if someone could help clarify this situation Smile HELP ME WIN A EURO! WOO-HOO!

EDIT: I should add this:
She wanted to use 'nevertheless' to contradict what she said before (so instead of talking tonight, she wanted to talk tomorrow)

@Femkeisab,
She might have said regardless..as in, "Regardless, we'll talk tomorrow."

However, alternatively there's still nothing wrong with saying, "Nevertheless, we'll still talk tomorrow."

@Ragman,
Thank you for your reply!
She was trying to contradict herself. Originally, she wanted to talk to me later tonight. She changed her mind, and decided she wanted to talk to me tomorrow. Are you sure regardless could still be used in this case?

@Femkeisab,
oh..I see.

I would simply say, "Instead of talking later on tonight, let's talk tomorrow."

Use of the word nevertheless makes little sense.
