Is the period correct at the end of this sentence? While business alignment is cited as a critical challenge, the most commonly cited learning measures are on individual performance, engagement and satisfaction (Figure 3.)

Unlike the sample, you used a period after the word satisfaction. I question whether you are actually using (Figure 3).

Roger's application is seen in the many instruction booklets I have saved over the years.
Put the . after the (Figure 3).
Another way is to simply add, " . . . . as seen in Figure 3."
Please let me know which sentance is punctuated correctly and why. If you could also provide your background in the English language that would help too.
