Lots of people in A2K continue discussions way past the "beating a dead horse" stage...including some who have commented here.

ci screwed up...and ci has criticized me several times for refusing to acknowledge that I have been wrong. I can show dozens of instances where I HAVE acknowledged that I was wrong (have already cited one here)...and apologized.

ci claims that when he is wrong...he acknowledges the error; thanks the person who called it to his attention; and apologizes.

I have not ever seen him do something like that...and although he has 90,000 posts, he has not be able to produce even one example of his doing so.

Here, he is stonewalling...rather than doing what he claims he does.

Just having a bit of fun with it.

So...does anyone want the bat back?

@Frank Apisa,
Hey, Frank, PLEASE tell them how I 'screwed up.' Please.

I've already told you twice, ci.

You mistakenly interpreted Q's remark...and then, while laughing your ass off, posted an example of exactly what Q meant.

C'mon...own up.

It's just a error you made.

Frank tries so so hard to make this into a federal case. This is the exchange in which I responded.

Q responded: 'oh my.'

Holy cow, Frank. What's your problem? You're still swinging that bat? Why?

Because you were wrong...and I am enjoying watching you squirming...rather than doing what you said you do when you discover you are wrong.

Q responded "oh my" because he apparently got a kick out of you missing his point so dramatically...and by you confirming his point while laughing your ass off.

This is entertainment, ci.

Stop taking yourself so seriously. You are much more comedy than information.

@Frank Apisa,
I'm not squirming, Frank. Most on this thread is calling you on it, but you can't
'see' it. You're beating a dead horse. Keep swinging; it only proves my point.

Keep evading the fact that you screwed up, ci. By not acknowledging your error...and by not doing what you claim you would do...you are definitely proving my point.

Of course (or as you would put it, "of coarse") I kinda suspected you would not be able to do it anyway. My guess: You would have huge trouble acknowledging error...or thanking the person who pointed it out...or apologizing.

@Frank Apisa,
I empathize with you Frank.

Sometimes you get a response that is either such a blatant lie or such a demonstration of hypocrisy that you you just can't bring yourself to let it go, and it doesn't help when the person just keeps it up and blames you for pointing it out. It also doesn't help when wags chime in with dead horse cracks and the person takes this as some sort of support for them.

But, as I'm sure you realize, this way leads to madness.

The person is never going to admit to lying or being hypocritical and eventually more and more people, feel compelled to join in with the "knock it off Franks," and you end up repeating the same valid point which, unfortunately, increasingly looks and feels foolish.

Eventually you will give up (as we all do) with a lousy feeling of dissatisfaction while the gimp who started the whole thing chortles with glee.

It's a cosmic injustice, but life is so often just that.

I feel for you Frank and I have your back for as long as you want to keep going, but as fellow horse beaters, we know how this is going to end.

I do not have to assume you to be someone who claims he will do something...and then does not do it.

You prove that by your actions.

And I am enjoying watching you squirm!

Yeah, the end is in sight.

Just enjoying the last few bars of the song!

Thanks, Finn.

You all incorrectly assume this was aimed at Frank. It was aimed at the whole thread. I guess y'all didn't recognize yourselves in the mob.

No. But there is a vocal minority of kooks who like to spout leftist intolerance.
Don't judge the intelligent posters (on either the left or the right) based on the ranting of the kooks.

You are sayingh nothing here!
you don't write who the intelligent posters are, who the kooks are.
You are just rambling now.

Naming someone as one of the low-IQ kooks will probably provoke a silly name-calling match with that kook.

Naming the high-IQ posters would be a bit safer, but if I forget to name someone they might wrongly think I'm counting them as a kook.

Probably they don't care whether or not I assess them as a kook, but overall coming up with a list of names seems like more trouble than it's worth.

I think it is fairly obvious who is in which group anyway. The important point is to note the existence of the band of kooks, and for people to realize that the kooks do not speak for any of the intelligent people.

I've never given up in such a situation.

Telling the truth never looks or feels foolish to me.

yes , I agree here. But my point was not really to name names, but to show he or she didn't say anything.
