Hey, is the Men's Rights Movement (MRM) "hateful"?

There's a VERY important question that I should've asked on the first page of this thread:

If men's rights activists are "misogynistic", then why do many women support them including prominent public figures?

There are two women in particular that I'd like to point out openly support the MRM and vocally denounce feminism. Both of these women gave speeches at the international conference for men's issues this month.

1) Erin Pizzey, an English family care activist and a novelist. She became internationally famous for having started one of the first women's refuges (called women's shelters in the U.S.) in the modern world, Chiswick Women's Aid, in 1971, the organisation known today as Refuge. Pizzey has been the subject of death threats and boycotts because of her research into the claim that most domestic violence is reciprocal, and that women are equally as capable of violence as men. Pizzey has said that the threats were from militant feminists.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erin_Pizzey

2) Anne Cools: The first black, female to become a senator in North America. A member of the Canadian Senate. Born in Barbados, she became with her appointment the first Black Canadian to be appointed to Canada's upper house. She is currently the longest-serving member of the Senate, since the retirement of Lowell Murray on September 26, 2011.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_Cools

Now, why on Earth would a black, female senator and one of the most prominent women among the pioneers of women's shelters support a movement full of misogynists???

This video is for anyone who is unfamiliar with the "red pill" reference, or unfamiliar with MGTOW. It is a very well made video that has some genuine humor to it. Please watch and enjoy:

@nononono,
nonono , You wrote: "It takes no courage at all to support gay rights or women's rights in society in this day and age. Both those groups are viewed as "persecuted" by society, and society has been reacting with sympathy and support for DECADES!"

I am new to this forum and not sure yet if it is a place where I would like to stay of where I fit. I think the question was posed in good way and I am anxious to discuss. However, I think standards of discussion should be set. When you say something like what we have above - you have made a sweeping statement without any back up and this isn't sound. Now I could argue against what you are saying but that would be contributing to the model I see happening online constantly. The burden of proof being handed over like a hot potato to someone else instead of being substantiated where it belongs. I kindly as you to justify this statement. Thank you.

I support gay rights. I think gay people should have the EXACT same rights as everyone else. However, when a company as HUGE as Burger King is making a "Gay Whopper", and an iconic character like Archie is written as dying by taking a bullet for his gay friend, I think we've reached the point as a culture where gay rights are being taken VERY seriously.

Men's rights however are NOT being taken seriously. Men are hated and scapegoated by society. People who stand up in support of men's rights are laughed at or hated.

A South Carolina woman yesterday summoned cops to her home after she discovered that her 15-year-old son had been watching pornography on the living room television.

According to a police report, Chavonda Gallman, 40, told sheriff’s deputies that she returned to her Spartanburg home yesterday at 3 PM with her two-year-old daughter and a client (Gallman is a real estate agent). Her son was in his room when the trio arrived.

Upon entering the home, Gallman’s daughter “turned on the TV and there was porn on.” Gallman told investigators that “they immediately turned off the TV” and took the child out of the room.

While watching porn remains legal, Gallman explained that she called 911 because her son “has been having behaviors issues.” Gallman (seen above) added that she wanted to file a report to document her “son’s behavior and due to her daughter being exposed to porn.”

The report does not indicate what the teen was doing in his room.

@nononono,
This is the culture we live in.

This is how bad it's gotten.

A 15 year old boy masturbating warrants calling the police apparently?

This is how bad feminism has demonized male sexuality. Now this poor young man is going to have this on his police record.

I have repeatedly and re-dundantly said over n over again
that no one shud be trusted. That applies to humen and to animals.

The most intelligent fellow whom I ever met in Mensa, Marvin,
steadfastly maintained that, given enuf time, anyone u know
will betray u. This incident dramatically demonstrates his point.
It reminds me of when Sukhreet Gabel betrayed her mother, Hortense.

I find it psychologically interesting that the point was made
that even AFTER the TV had already been turned off,
the 2 year old girl was removed from the room, as if
it constituted a danger to her; seems odd. In a worst case
scenario, what cud the turned off TV inflict upon her??

That's a GREAT point David.

I'm just disgusted by this story. I think that watching porn as a 15 year old male almost falls into the same category as a heroin addict being offered free heroin. This young man was being ruled by biological imperatives that trumped reasoning and/or logic. 15 year old young men masturbate, there's NOTHING wrong or abnormal about that! MANY young men are caught masturbating. That DOES NOT warrant the police being called.

I think this mother is an absolute wretch of a human being. There was NO need to shame her son in such a way...

there should be a special place in hell these people who call the state to rat on family members who clearly have committed no crime.

That 's an exaggeration.
I don t feel persecuted in the slightest; never did,
but I actually had this happen:
in another century, one of my residential tenants told me that
she had come home n ascended the stoop leading to my front door.
She looked diagonally down across the ally into my nabor's cellar,
where she saw my teenaged nabor masturbating; she complained
about the expression on his face. She pounded on the front
and the back doors of the house. She called the police.
(I was not aware of this until she told me a few days later.)
Because of the expression on the boy's face, she feared
that he was going to "attack" her 15 year old daughter.
(I doubt that thay ever met.)
She said that the responding police officer said that
if he had seen the boy doing that, then he 'd have
put his foot thru the nabor's window.

I 'm trying to remember whether I apologized to my nabor
for her having caused any trouble. I think I did; not sure.

On reflection, I believe that I DID apologize
to the boy involved for that disturbance with the police.
He dismissed it as being inconsequential.

seriously, do we really need to go through this again? You were forged in what, the 1960'S? You need to take a few moments to understand what life is like for a guy born 1990 and later. Guys are genetically coded to place great weight on what women think of them, what women communicate to youthful guys are that they are first and foremost potential rapists, and that if they want to atone for the crime of being male they will

1) do what women tell them to do

2) be always vigilant about being non threatening.

3) will give voice to the storyline the MEN SUCK!
