@Germlat,
Speaking of Federal judges in 1972 or so I fear that I might have cause a Federal judge to have a heart attack right on his bench.
I had been called for jury duty and found myself in a jury pool being question for a marijuana smuggling case.
The judge ask a number of women if they have any reason why they could not serve on this jury and everyone of them declare that they was so anti-drug that they could not be fair jurors.
You could see that the judge was getting more and more annoy and then I was call up and ask the same question.
Now here I had just turn 21 and opinions at the time was not in favor of legal pot and I needed to reply to his question of if there was any reason I could not serve on this jury and I needed to say yes you honor there are such reasons.
He said in a loud and annoy tone what would that reason be....and I stated I do not believe in the marijuana laws and I would not convict anyone under them.
For a moment I did for real fear that he was going to have a heart attacks turning a very bright red color.
So to sum up I never had must of a fear of taking unpopular positions even at age 21 in front of a federal judge so the likes of Izzy and Firefly and others here at age 66 is not going to change that fact.
