@Finn dAbuzz,
There wasn't a singular smoking gun post that caused me to make the comment you mention - There was a growing knowledge from very early on which became more and more apparent in most of what he said. There is some non-specific dent in his thinker, but it manifests with a heavy dose of misogyny.

It wasn't meant to be an insult, although I understand that it would be viewed that way. I thought he should know.

@Easy-Y,
Don't you just love it when people use another email address and recreate a new fake ID and nickname?

Is it not wonderful to have the freedom to libel someone and not need to worry about losing everything you own down to your toothbrush as in the "real world".

One wonder where she come up with this nonsense.

Could it be that this personal attack was driven over my once stating that there should be means for academics to get legal permissions to handle such materials as part of valid academic research programs?

Or did her comment just come out of her sick mind and that I had reported here that p2p networks that are legal and used by tens of millions for legal sharing of all kind of files have an amazing number of files that in their titles claim to be child porn?

For the hundred and one time I never seen anything that would be consider child porn in my life nor had I watch it for research or for any other reason.

@BillRM,
When it comes to something as serious as that accusation, I would have to prove them wrong by whatever means possible. Others have also stated this about you. Makes me wonder why you put up with it?

In the real world [non-internet] the one that would would need to proves she is correct would not be myself but glitterbag unless she wish to be homeless and penniless.

The nature of the internet however offer protections for people like her that in most cases are not practical to overcome.

Only if someone like glitterbag is dumb enough to libel a person or company by their real world name and that person or companies had the resources and desire to hired lawyers to issues subpoenas to find the hateful person behind their handle could something be done.

To sum up it the nature of the internet that it grant freedoms and like always some people will misused that freedom and take it as a license. In this case a license to libel.

Some people talk like they know you and even talk about newspapers. Maybe you don't want to bother but I would find it impossible to overlook.

Not one of them know my real life ID or myself off this website anymore then I know such charming people as Firefly, Izzy or Glitterbag off this website or by their real life names.

I assume that with all the great personal details I had written about myself over the years someone could with enough work placed a real world name to my handle but no one had done so openly to this point.

@BillRM,
I think you stated a problem you had and they didn't know your identity but where able to know where you live. They saw a similar story in the paper of your town and because of the details assumed it was you. Still....I would feel I would need to clear my name . The idea sure can make anybody uneasy.

I do not know any details about any newspaper story and the "town" [ Greater Miami area] that I live in when I am not living in the Detroit area or the La Vegas area have a few millions population so tying me to some news story would be an interesting task indeed.

Well...I'm fairly new here and I've already heard it many times. I'm not judging you for your choices...if people make things like that up then they're weird. I can't imagine saying something like that about anyone unless I were to be 100% right ...but then I know there are weird/cruel people out there. I guess it takes time to get to know people.

@Germlat,
Let me give you a little sample of the nonsense that go on here I had taken the position that is share by the majority of Federal judges by polls that the federal sentencing guidelines for the crime of child porn is too harsh.

Stating that a mental health approved might be more fruitful and that the current laws in the UK seems about right for the most part.

The woman with the handle of Firefly for daring to take such a position then asked me if I did in fact trade child porn myself.

I make a clearly sarcastic statement back to her Yes, I trade child porn with Federal Judges.

Firefly then edit my sarcastic statement by removing the with Federal Judges from the statement and declaring with great joy that I had in fact admitted to this crime!!!!

Wow!! Simply because they didn't like you're take on a debate?.....that's creepy. I know what you mean about the internet. Well, its not real life in here. I'm sure some people can portray to be their favorite cartoon characters or be bad assess when in real life they'd get their lip stapled. I come here for amusement of some sort...sometimes I leave because it can turn boring with the same petty playground fighting.

@Germlat,
Speaking of Federal judges in 1972 or so I fear that I might have cause a Federal judge to have a heart attack right on his bench.

I had been called for jury duty and found myself in a jury pool being question for a marijuana smuggling case.

The judge ask a number of women if they have any reason why they could not serve on this jury and everyone of them declare that they was so anti-drug that they could not be fair jurors.

You could see that the judge was getting more and more annoy and then I was call up and ask the same question.

Now here I had just turn 21 and opinions at the time was not in favor of legal pot and I needed to reply to his question of if there was any reason I could not serve on this jury and I needed to say yes you honor there are such reasons.

He said in a loud and annoy tone what would that reason be....and I stated I do not believe in the marijuana laws and I would not convict anyone under them.

For a moment I did for real fear that he was going to have a heart attacks turning a very bright red color.

So to sum up I never had must of a fear of taking unpopular positions even at age 21 in front of a federal judge so the likes of Izzy and Firefly and others here at age 66 is not going to change that fact.

I read the story of this sick young man. I think he didn't get what he needed which caused a personality disorder (narcissism) and ultimately had a psychotic break. His mom called the cops because she was afraid of him or what he might do (before the killings) ...the cops didn't take it seriously because he had no arrest record/prior convictions. I think he needed hospitalization at that point. He hated everyone including his parents, teachers, men and women. Mostly I think he hated himself but projected this hatred unto others...typical of narcissists. I don't think sexism had anything to do with it. He envied both males and females. He killed whomever was available since the dorm doors didn't open for him. I don't think societal influences mattered. It was about his mental illness. I liked CI's reference about the mother killing her children. I agree...mental illness period.

@Germlat,
You know most mental ill are not violence either so all this news of mental ill people killing their families and strangers is putting them behind the old eight ball.

In any case, we need a hell of a lot more mentally health beds to have a place to put and treated those people in need of such.

Right now the prisons are serving and poorly serving the function that used to be done by mental hospitals before most of them was shut down in the 1950s-60s.
