Why the liberal-Left gets racism wrong
We must be aware that most accusations of racism from the liberal-Left are at best fake, and at worst part of a shabby and authoritarian agenda designed to close down serious debate and ostracise decent people
The liberal-Left, or at least the smarter among them, are, of course, aware of this. So why does this particular blanket smear persist?
There are a number of reasons. But first we need to be clear about which category of the Left we are talking about. Because we are not talking about working class, trade union style Leftism. Most people who could reasonably be placed inside that part of the Leftist tradition share the concerns of the wider population. They're decent, reasonable and simply desire a more rational approach to immigration.
It is the middle class Left, still attached to the fraying threads of cultural Marxism, that is the villain of the peace here. For them, the honourable fight against racism naturally merges into other streams in their tradition, most particularly the will to suppress.
This Leftism is totalitarian in its instincts. But, living in a liberal democracy, its adherents can hardly send you to the Gulag. What they can do is to slander you, drive you out of your job, and have you shunned by mainstream society as a "bigot".
Of course, the mask slips when their heroes are exposed as racist themselves. Take the literal and figurative poster boy of the ideological Left -- Che Guevara. His vicious racism against black people knew no bounds.
“The black is indolent and a dreamer; spending his meager wage on frivolity or drink; the European has a tradition of work and saving, which has pursued him as far as this corner of America and drives him to advance himself, even independently of his own individual aspirations," Guevara opined.
The Left uses the "racism" smear for purely opportunistic reasons.

At least contrx knows quite a bit more about UK-politics than you do.

But I bow to your superior knowledge.
You’ve heard people say “Jesus was a socialist”, that’s not true, but Satan is definitely a liberal
I think we need to clarify that modern American liberalism, or ‘progressivism,’ is a particular ideology informed by the social, political, religious, and sexual philosophies of guys like Machiavelli, Kant, Nietzsche, Freud, and Marx — the ‘pillars of unbelief,’ as Peter Kreeft calls them. Contemporary Western liberalism — with its defense of abortion, gay ‘marriage,’ relativism, forced wealth redistribution, pornography, massive government, and its attacks on the family, faith, life, and liberty — is truly a unique abomination.
When you claim Jesus as a liberal, you are putting him under the same umbrella as these men. But if The Lord were to come back, call you up into the mountain like Peter, James, and John, and bless you with another scene like the Transfiguration, somehow I doubt that, instead of making Moses and Elijah appear before you, He would summon the souls of Friedrich Nietzsche and Karl Marx.
I will not claim Jesus as a ‘conservative.’ Jesus was, is, and always will be The Lord. Jesus is Jesus. He is much too large to fit inside our paltry little political ideologies. You are the one trying to make Jesus into a disciple of your own modern philosophy. My only intention today is to refute that attempt; not make a similar attempt of my own. I do not think He is a conservative. I think He transcends any label we can place on Him.
Jesus was not a liberal.
Lucifer, on the other hand, probably fits the bill.
After all, modern liberalism is nothing if it isn’t the worship of self. It is an ideology that places self fulfillment, pleasure, and convenience above everything. Liberalism bows to no one but its own reflection (and foreign bureaucrats, in the case of Barack Obama). Liberals believe that our personal desires are the ultimate arbiter, which is why life can be destroyed and institutions like marriage twisted and obliterated, all to serve the one god: self.
Satan has said many words, but they can all be summed up by those infamous four. “I will not serve.”
Modern Liberalism — following the lead of its great apostles, from Machiavelli to Marx — elevates the self to the highest position in the universe. Even you, Tim, have perfectly illustrated this by attempting to chain Christ to a dogma that includes, among other things, support for the murder of children. You have tried to make Christ serve you and your worldview.
So those are not His footsteps you are following in the sand, Tim. Those are the footsteps of the one who met Him out in that desert, and rather than bow before His glory, tried to tempt Him and turn Him into a slave.
You're quite the git.
