My wife experienced serious abdominal pain, headache and unusual heavy blood flow few days into her menstrual period. The bleeding is yet to stop though her period should be over by now. Doctors have tried to stop the bleeding unsuccessfully. Any advice on how to effectively stop the bleeding then find the cause?

Consult with a different doctor.

Get another opinion and another and another. She should be in a hospital, and checked for things like a torn uterus. Uncontrolled bleeding is an Emergency Room type of issue.

Could also be a tubal pregnancy, this is an emergency.

Don't delay, the hospital should have taken images of the abdominal area. I don't like to be alarming but I think your wife has an emergency condition that really can't wait for the long weekend to be over.
