Is There Any Reason to Believe the Biblical Story of Creation?

The Bible says that an all powerful being exists who created the universe. Why should we believe that this is the truth?

Hopefully some people will use this thread to explain why they think it is the truth.

@Brandon9000,
In order for that to happen you need to sound less :interested in the truth" and more interested in picking a fight.
If you post stuff like Set and I did, they'll come running to defend thwir beliefs and you will have a full dance card.

As Raylin Givens always says.
"perhps they should try to convince someone who gives a ****"

I'm just giving people an opportunity to explain the reasons for their beliefs.

@Brandon9000,
I would say the number 1 reason for their beliefs is indoctrination.

Take your pick, I like Pangu and his cosmic egg.

First, the believers are going to have to pick which of the two stories of creation in Genesis they hold to be true.

Oh, they have their interpretations to gloss that fact.

Some of us find it very difficult, entailing so much dualism, paradox, or contradiction as it does. However if it makes some others of us happy then I'm all for it. Why not after all

That q might prompt you to observe such belief quashes further exploration of the "creation" notion. However those of us ardent in their faith probably don't think much about alternatives anyhow

If it makes you happy, fine, but the topic here is about evidence that it's actually true.

@Brandon9000,
there is one creator of universe. because 0+0+0+0+0+.../=1. sums of zero can't makes 1. this perfect universe can never be created incidentally. there were approximately 124000 prophets sent by God to this Earth. All of them had delivered the same message that " God (Allah ) is one. who created this universe and every thing in this universe "

Brandon may have a nibble here. I suspect, though, that intelligent Christians (and that's who Brandon has aimed this thread at) aren't going to take the bate.
