Until recently I used an older version of Lotus Notes at work. Sometimes I would have Lotus Notes open as well as another program, MicrosoftWord for example.
If while I was working in the MicrosoftWord program, an e-mail came in to the Inbox in Lotus Notes, the PC would switch screens and I would suddenly have the Lotus Notes Inbox on my screen, replacing the MicrosoftWord screen.
Recently my office replaced the Lotus Notes program with the new 8.5 version. Now I am no longer advised when a new e-mail enters my Lotus Notes Inbox.
Is there a way to enable this functionality? How?

Every email program on the planet has a settings or preferences button, page or tab. Go there and select whatever looks anything like
notifications of incoming mail and see what the options are - chime, flash, indicator, whatever. Select whatever you want and save your preferences.
