We have 3 "feeder" goldfish that are about 3 years old. The ciclid wouldn't eat them - she died. The goldfish however, live on and are quite big! Manny, Mo and Jack - Many & Jack have pretty, flowing fins & tails, whereas Mo is plain. Now today we discovered eggs floating in a 'strand' on the water! What do we do? Who is male and female in our trio?
Unusual for gold fish to spawn. Did you have a grass structure at the bottom of the tank?
@bobsal u1553115,
No grass, just rocks and a few props - got to thinking though; we recently added a paloscamus, a 'sucker fish' to the tank, about a month ago, it was pretty small. has grown considerably. The goldfish, mostly 'Mo', have recently began to 'bully' the poor thing! Could it have been pregnant when purchased? If so, the eggs wont hatch as theres no like male to fertilize?
@JamisImaj,
Good question and way outside my ken.

They are 3 years old and you think one was pregnant when you bought it?
