THE INTERNET IS OUR BEST FRIEND for looking up all sorts of ailments, and we end up knowing more about it than the quacks and can keep tabs on them to make sure they're giving us the right treatment..Smile
Wiki is a good place to start, here's a bit about what it says about diabetes-

The classic symptoms of untreated diabetes are-
loss of weight
frequent urination
increased thirst
increased hunger
Blurred vision
Skin rashes
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diabetes_mellitus

And here are more symptoms from two other websites-
Weakness and Fatigue
Tingling or Numbness in hands, legs or feet:
Cuts and bruises that take a long time to heal

Genital itching or regular episodes of thrush

After the ten that Jespah gave you, here is an eleventh for good measure: They buy a blood-glucose meter, measure their blood sugar according to the instructions, and find that its level is greater than 120 milligrams per deciliter (in the morning before eating anything) or greater than 170 (in the afternoon after eating). These days, you can buy a glucose meter for $20 or less (with test strips --- do make sure your kit includes a few test strips). So if you don't want to go to the doctor for some reason, this would be a workable alternative.

And I'd add that ANYBODY might have a diabetic episode anytime even if they're not diabetic.
It's to do with a temporary imbalance in blood sugar, I've had them occasionally for years (sudden thirst, hunger, spots before the eyes tiredness, weakness, hot sweat) and have to stuff myself with food before I faint, and am right as rain afterwards..Smile

Diabetes (from Greek for urine) Mellitus (from Latin for honey) Very strong, sweet smelling sweat and urine. It was once known as "the pissing evil" in England, because it was like a person's life force was urinated away.

they can differ but tell tale signs are:
feeling dizzy or faint
excessive thirst particularly at night
weeing alot
headache
tiredness after meals the list goes on but it easy to diagnose, untreated it can lead to organ failure or death but diagnosed and treated you can lead a fairly normal life
