Although the winning definition was indeed the correct answer, it might be a point of curiosity to mention that the definition originally derived from the image of a peeled garlic clove, which apparently resembled a bald-headed man, hence the Kojak reference. I guessed without any expectation of points Wink

Yes, cavfancier, my source said it originally meant "bald-headed man" and later acquired the humorous contempt/mock pity definition.

I am working on getting our Balderdash scores updated. May I propose that we not attempt to resurrect scoring from the ETAOIN SHRDLU round? It will probably be impossible to score completely after nearly two months.

If no one has a problem with that, I'll move on and post scores from the PILGARLIC round tomorrow...

Do we have any volunteers for dasher?

I have received 2 correct answers to ECDYSIAST, so these two worthies will receive the requisite points, which I think I declare after this round is completed with another word, the new word is :-

GABERLUNZIE

Enjoy, and please PM me with your bluffs and/or real definitions

Wow, I'm in time for another round! Equus, thank you for pilgarlic, even though I hadn't a clue as to the meaning.

Mac11, many thanks for totalling the scores.

Hiama, gaberlunzie is maddeningly obscure--just the sort we all enjoy. A good bluff will take some thought.

I need to consult with Felix Noir.
